New York's 2nd State Senate District
New York's 2nd State Senate district is one of 63 districts in the New York State Senate. Since 2021, it has been represented by Republican Mario Mattera, who succeeded former Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan. For the 2022 election, the 2nd district was redistricted from the old 2nd district and the 5th district. Geography 2nd District covers north-central Suffolk County on Long Island, including the town of Smithtown, as well as portions of Brookhaven and Huntington. New York's 3rd Congressional District
New York's 3rd congressional district is a congressional district for the United States House of Representatives in the State of New York. It is represented by Democrat Tom Suozzi, who has been in office since 2017. In the 2022 election, Republican George Santos was elected to represent the district and is tentatively scheduled to start January 3, 2023. The district includes part of the North Shore of Long Island. It expands across northern Nassau County and into far northeastern Queens. The 2012 United States presidential election in New York took place on November 6, 2012, as part of the 2012 United States presidential election in which all 50 states plus the District of Columbia participated. Voters chose 29 electors to represent them in the Electoral College via a popular vote pitting incumbent Democratic President Barack Obama and his running mate, Vice President Joe Biden, against Republican challenger and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and his running mate, Congressman Paul Ryan.
