New Hall Estate
The New Hall Estate is the older of the two major private housing estates named after New Hall Manor in the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands in England. The newer being New Hall Manor Estate. It was built in a number of phases beginning in the 1980s by Bryant Homes with the final phase (Granary Lane) built in the late 1990s, on land which was formerly part of Newhall Farm formerly owned by Rubery Owen Holdings. It is a maze of roads and a mix of privately owned, detached, semi detached and town houses, with two areas of smaller houses, flats and studio apartments. The construction of the estate was considered one of the most complicated housing projects of the decade in England due to the angle of the land on which some of the houses were built on. New Hall Valley Country Park
New Hall Valley Country Park is a country park located in New Hall Valley between Walmley, Wylde Green and Pype Hayes in the Sutton Coldfield area of north Birmingham. It is the first new country park in the United Kingdom, UK for over a decade. The park is split into "phases". It was created in 2005 by Birmingham City Council with funding raised from the release of land for the New Hall Manor Estate development and formally opened on August 29, 2005. The park covers over 160 acres (0.6 km2) of designated green belt land to the south east of Sutton Park, West Midlands, Sutton Park, including ancient woodland, historic wetland grazing meadows, former Farmland (farming), farmland, and part of Plants Brook. John Willmott School
John Willmott School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, England. There are 1,186 students on roll, of whom 230 are in the sixth form. Students from a White British background represent 82% of the school population. Although the school is located in the Falcon Lodge area of Sutton Coldfield, it also serves pupils from elsewhere in Birmingham such as Erdington and Castle Vale. Fairfax Academy
Fairfax Academy (formerly Fairfax School) is a secondary school with academy status in the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, in north Birmingham. The school was established in 1959. The school has a sixth-form, with a new sixth-form centre which opened in September 2013. History The School opened in 1959; the founding Headmaster was Mr G Philpott. He was followed by Don Field. Plantsbrook School
Plantsbrook School, (formerly Riland Bedford High School), is a secondary school with academy status located in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, England. The school achieved an "Outstanding" Ofsted status once in 2012. The most recent rating was “Good” and the preceding one in which it was rated as REQUIRES IMPROVEMENT. The school was a Technology College and a Music College before the Specialist Schools initiative was made defunct. Openreach Limited is a company wholly owned by BT Group plc, that maintains the telephone cables, ducts, cabinets and exchanges that connect nearly all homes and businesses in the United Kingdom to the national broadband and telephone network. Alfred Owen
Sir Alfred George Beech Owen (8 April 1908–29 October 1975) was the son of Alfred Ernest Owen (who in 1910 became the sole-proprietor of the British engineering company Rubery Owen & Co). Sir Alfred was educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge and after the death of his father in 1929 he became, jointly with his brother, managing director of the Rubery Owen Group.
