Netivot Railway Station
The Netivot railway station is a railway station situated in the western outskirts of Netivot, Israel. It is located on the Ashkelon–Beersheba railway between Sderot and Ofakim. A bus terminal is located adjacent to the station. On the 12th of April 2011, the cornerstone of the station was laid in the presence of the Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu and the Minister of Transportation, Yisrael Katz. Netivot ( he, נְתִיבוֹת, "''paths''", ar, نتيڤوت) is a city in the Southern District of Israel located between Beersheba and Gaza. In , it had a population of . History Netivot was founded in 1956 and named after the bible: "All her paths are peace." (Proverbs 3:17) Initially a ma'abara, it was later transformed into a development town. The Ashkelon–Beersheba railway is a railway line linking Ashkelon and Beersheba operated by Israel Railways. It spans approximately 60 km of double track in the northern Negev region of southern Israel and provides rail service to the cities of Sderot, Netivot and Ofakim.
