Neil Ferguson (epidemiologist)
Neil Morris Ferguson (born 1968) is a British epidemiologist and professor of mathematical modelling of infectious disease, mathematical biology, who specialises in the epidemiology, patterns of spread of infectious disease in humans and animals. He is the director of the Jameel Institute, Jameel Institute for Disease and Emergency Analytics (J-IDEA), director of the MRC Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis, and head of the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology in the School of Public Health and Vice-Dean for Academic Development in the Imperial College Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, all at Imperial College London. Neil Ferguson (footballer)
Neil Ferguson (28 November 1945 – 14 July 2016) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Ferguson came to Hawthorn from Melbourne High School and was 18 when he made his VFL debut in 1964. He played as a ruckman but towards the end of his time at Hawthorn was also used to good effect up forward, kicking 19 goals in 1968 and 21 goals in 1969. The second half of his football career was spent in Western Australia, with five years at East Fremantle and a season with Claremont. He was the first ruckman in East Fremantle's 1974 premiership winning side. Ferguson died on 14 July 2016, aged 70. Chumbawamba () were a British rock band formed in 1982 and disbanded in 2012. They are best known for their 1997 single "Tubthumping", which was nominated for Best British Single at the 1998 Brit Awards. Other singles include "Amnesia", " Enough Is Enough" (with MC Fusion), " Timebomb", "Top of the World (Olé, Olé, Olé)", and "Add Me". The band drew on genres such as punk rock, pop, and folk. Their anarcho-communist political leanings led them to have an irreverent attitude toward authority, and to espouse a variety of political and social causes including animal rights and pacifism (early in their career) and later regarding class struggle, Marxism, feminism, gay liberation, pop culture, and anti-fascism. Niels T. Ferguson (born 10 December 1965, Eindhoven) is a Dutch cryptographer and consultant who currently works for Microsoft. He has worked with others, including Bruce Schneier, designing cryptographic algorithms, testing algorithms and protocols, and writing papers and books. Among the designs Ferguson has contributed to is the AES finalist block cipher algorithm Twofish as well as the stream cipher Helix and the Skein hash function.
