Fanchon Royer
Fanchon Royer (1902–1986) was an American film producer, active during the 1930s. She was one of the few woman producers in Hollywood during the era, associated with low-budget independent studios such as Mayfair Pictures. After graduating from the University of Southern California, she entered films during the silent era as an extra. Later work as a film journalist and publicity agent led on to her career as a poverty row producer. In 1936 she was production assistant to Nat Levine at Republic Pictures, but resigned to establish her own company. However this only produced one film.Pitts p.330 Following her film career, she moved to Mexico and upon the suggestion of Monsignor Edward R. Kirk, she became a successful writer. Emerson Treacy
Emerson Treacy (September 17, 1900 – January 10, 1967) was an American film, Broadway, and radio actor. Early years Treacy graduated from St. Joseph College in Philadelphia. When his father died in an automobile accident, Treacy became the executive responsible for the sporting goods factory that his family owned in Philadelphia. Prior to that development, he had planned to study law. Career Treacy acted in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. He and Gay Seabrook, "two of the best known portrayers of youthful roles in the country", performed in the play ''Tommy''. Other plays in which he appeared included ''The Master Builder'',a ''Take My Advice'', ''Pigs'', and ''Skidding''. On Broadway he portrayed Purdy in ''Searching for the son'' (1936). Mabel Van Buren (born Mabel Brown Southard; July 17, 1878 – November 4, 1947) was an American stage and screen actress. Biography As a theatrical performer she played the leading lady in both ''The Virginian'' and ''The Squaw Man'' (1909). She was an actress for the Kinemacolor Company of America. Van Buren became prominent in motion pictures at the time of the development of feature-length movies in 1914. She starred in '' The Girl of the Golden West'' (1915) under the direction of Cecil B. Demille. It was Demille who brought Mabel west to Hollywood. Mabel was the first leading lady of the Famous Players–Lasky studio on Vine Street in Hollywood, California. James Gordon (April 23, 1871 – May 12, 1941) was an American silent film actor. He appeared in more than 120 films between 1911 and 1935. He also directed 4 films between 1913 and 1915, including the 1915 film ''The New Adventures of J. Rufus Wallingford''. Gordon was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on April 23, 1871. He died on May 12, 1941, in Hollywood, California, aged 70, from post-surgical complications. He is buried in Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Cyril Ring (December 5, 1892July 17, 1967) was an American actor. By the time of his final performance in 1951, he had appeared in more than 350 films, nearly all of them in small and/or uncredited bit parts. Ring is probably best known today for his featured role as Harvey Yates, a swindler and accomplice to fellow swindler Penelope, played by Kay Francis in the Marx Brothers' first film '' The Cocoanuts'' (1929).
