Navy Children School, Mumbai
Navy Children School, Mumbai (also known as NCS Mumbai, NCS Colaba) is an educational institution located in Navy Nagar, Colaba, Mumbai. It provides primary, secondary and senior secondary education (i.e. up to 12th class) and follows the syllabus set by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The current school vice-principal is Mrs. Shalini Asher. History Founded in 1984, it is run by the Navy Education Society under the Indian Navy as part of the chain of Navy Children Schools which are located throughout India. The school was initially known as Naval Public School as part of the Education Society's mandate but changed to Navy Children School in 2005 following a new mandate. The school opened one of its branches near the main campus at Pasta Lane in Mumbai for classes I to III, and the rest are located in the main campus at Navy Nagar. Central Board Of Secondary Education
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by the Government of India. Established in 1929 by a resolution of the government, the Board was an experiment towards inter-state integration and cooperation in the sphere of secondary education. There are more than 27,000 schools in India and 240 schools in 28 foreign countries affiliated to the CBSE. All schools affiliated to CBSE follow the NCERT curriculum especially from class 9 to 12. Navy Nagar
Navy Nagar is a cantonment area in Mumbai, India, and was established in 1796. The area is owned and managed solely by the Indian Navy and entry to this area is highly restricted. Entry and exit points to the area are heavily manned by Naval Police. Overview Navy Nagar is located at the extreme south promontory of Mumbai city, and is linked to it through the Colaba Causeway. Colaba
Colaba (; or ISO: Kolābā) is a part of the city of Mumbai, India. It is one of the four peninsulas of Mumbai while the other three are Worli, Bandra and Malabar Hill. During Portuguese rule in the 16th century, the island was known as Kolbhat. After the British took over the island in the late 17th century, it was known as Kolio. National Cadet Corps (India)
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces with its headquarters in New Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis as a Tri-Services Organisation, comprising the Army, the Navy and the Air Force, engaged in developing the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The soldier youth foundation in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, higher secondary, colleges and universities all over India.
