A national championship(s) is the top achievement for any sport or competition, contest within a league of a particular nation or nation state. The title is usually awarded by contests, ranking systems, stature, ability, etc. This determines the best team, individual (or other entity) in a particular nation and in a particular field. Lee Balkin
Lee Balkin (born June 7, 1961) is a retired American high jumper. He competed at the 1987 World Championships without reaching the final. His personal best jump is 2.33 metres, achieved in July 1987 in Durham. Balkin holds the school record in the high jump at Glendale High School in Glendale, California. On the outset that might not sound impressive, but the previous record was held by Dwight Stones, who was already a double Olympic medalist and the National High School Record holder. At the 1979 CIF California State Meet, Balkin jumped 7' 3½" which is still the state meet record. Nik Bojic
Nik Bojic (born 18 January 1992) is an Australian high jumper. Bojic is of Serbs, Serbian descent and migrated to Australia as a three year old. He grew up in Brisbane, Queensland and completed his secondary education at Brisbane State High School. He is currently a student at University of Queensland. In 2013, Bojic qualified for the Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia when he finished 3rd with a jump of 2.22m at the Australian National Championships. In Kazan he placed 4th in the men's high jump final, improving his personal best by 6 cm to clear 2.28m. Defeating the Olympic champion Ivan Ukhov in the process. This jump places him the equal 7th highest Australian jump of all time. Bojic won the 2014 Australian National Championships with a jump of 2.23m and subsequently qualified for the Commonwealth Games. Brandon Starc
Brandon Starc (born 24 November 1993) is a professional Australian high jumper. Starc currently trains in Sydney, Australia, under the guidance of his coach Alex Stewart. As a national representative and high achieving athlete, Starc is supported and represented through the New South Wales and Australian Institutes of Sport. As a 16 year old he won a silver medal at the inaugural 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore with a +9 cm personal best of 2.19m. Starc won his first National Senior Athletics Championships title in 2012 with 2.28m, going on to qualify as a finalist at the 2012 World Junior Athletics Championships, Starc has also competed in the finals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, the 2015 World Athletics Championships, and the 2016 Summer Olympics. Tim Forsyth
Tim Forsyth (born 17 August 1973 in Mirboo North, Victoria, Australia) is a retired Australian three-time Olympic high jumper: 1992, 1996, and 2000). Forsyth's first success on the international scene came in 1990 with a silver medal at the World Junior Championships. In 1992 a 19-year-old Forsyth won an Olympic bronze medal, equalling his then personal best height of 2.34m. He went on to win another World Junior Championships silver medal, this time beaten by Brit Steve Smith. At the 1994 Commonwealth Games Forsyth finished ahead of Steve Smith.
