Reedy Creek Park (Charlotte, North Carolina)
Reedy Creek Park is a 125 acre urban park at 2900 Rocky River Road in the Newell section of Charlotte, North Carolina. Adjacent to the park is a 737 acre nature preserve. The main park contains courts and fields for basketball, softball, tennis, soccer, horseshoes, cricket, and volleyball. There are indoor and outdoor picnic facilities, extensive benches, playgrounds, a disc golf course, a dog park, a community garden, several ponds, and a lakeside fishing pier. Reedy Creek Park is the home of the Charlotte based South Park Cricket Club. North Carolina Highway 115 (NC 115) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It runs from U.S. Route 21 in North Charlotte north through Mecklenburg, Iredell and Wilkes counties. Its northern terminus is at its intersection with US 421 Business, NC 18 and NC 268 in North Wilkesboro. Pineville (; locally ) is a suburban town in the southernmost portion of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, United States, situated in the Waxhaws district between Charlotte and Fort Mill. History Pineville became known as a mule trading center during the time of the Charlotte 'gold rush'. At that time 'Pineville' was called 'Morrow's Turnout'. Located at the intersection of two major Native American trading routes, it had vast meadows in which the animals of trade and transportation could be 'turned-out' to pasture. Matthews, North Carolina
Matthews is a town in southeastern Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, United States. It is a suburb of Charlotte. The population was 27,198 according to the 2010 Census. History In the early 19th century, the new settlement that would become Matthews was unofficially named Stumptown for the copious amount of tree stumps left from making way for cotton farms. The community's name later changed to Fullwood, named after appointed area postmaster John Miles Fullwood. The establishment of a sawmill and the cotton and timber industry helped Fullwood change into a town. Prior to the first train arriving on December 15, 1874, Fullwood acted as a stagecoach stop between Charlotte and Monroe.
