The National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) is the governing body of golf in the Philippines. The NGAP is a member of the International Golf Federation. The first golf association in the country, the Philippine Amateur Golf Association (PAGA) was formed from the Philippine Amateur Athletic Federation (PAAF), when the PAAF's charter was revised through Republic Act No. 3135 which took effect on June 17, 1961. The PAGA held their first organizational meeting on December 27, 1961. PAGA later became known as the Republic of the Philippines Golf Association (RPGA) in 1970. The Philippine Institute of Sports Complex (also known as the PhilSports Complex) is a national sports complex of the Philippines. It is located in Meralco Avenue in Pasig, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is where the offices of the Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee and some national sports associations are located. The Philippine Amateur Athletic Federation (PAAF) was the governing body of sports in the Philippines and the predecessor of the Philippine Olympic Committee. History The Philippine Amateur Athletic Federation was organized in a permanent basis in 1911 as a result of the gaining of foothold of athletics in the Philippine Islands which was caused by American influence since 1899. The early proponents of the PAAF meant not only to promote athletics in the whole archipelago but in the whole Far East. The PAAF formed a committee in 1912, composed of Frank L. Crone, Elwood Stanley Brown and William Tutherly, for this purpose.
