National Democratic Alliance (Mauritania)
The National Democratic Alliance ( ar, التحالف الوطني الديمقراطي, french: Alliance nationale démocratique, AND) is a centrist political party in Mauritania. It became the fifth largest political party of the country after the 2018 parliamentary elections. The AND backs the administration of Mohamed Ould Ghazouani and is part of the Coordination of Parties of the Majority. History The party was created in January 2016 after Yacoub Ould Moine, ex-MP for the Rally of Democratic Forces (RFD), left the party and applied to register a new party called "Democratic Alliance" in December 2015, although the party got its current name when registered. The party is considered to represent the Moine family and to have been created by Ould Moine due to the refusal of Ahmed Ould Daddah, leader of the RFD, of a dialogue with the government that doesn't have previously set conditions and in order to get closer to the administration of Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz Mohame ...

Various political ideologies, such as Christian democracy, Pancasila, and certain forms of liberalism like social liberalism, can be classified as centrist, as can the Third Way, a modern political movement that attempts to reconcile right-wing and left-wing politics by advocating for a synthesis of centre-right economic platforms with centre-left social policies. List Of Political Parties In Mauritania
This article lists political parties in Mauritania. After the independence of the country in 1960, president Moktar Ould Daddah merged his Mauritanian Regroupment Party with other opposition parties to form the Mauritanian People's Party (PPM), which ruled the country as the sole legal party from 1961 to 1978. Following the July 1978 coup led by Mustafa Ould Salek, the party was abolished and banned and Mauritania's civilian leadership was replaced with military rule until president Maaouya Ould Sid'Ahmed Taya established the Democratic and Social Republican Party (PRDS) in 1992. Opposition political parties were allowed, but had no real chance of gaining power. After the 2005 coup d'état, a transitional military junta was established, which liberalised the political arena, leading to an open and plural political system for the first time in the country's history. The junta organised a constitutional referendum that established term limits to then organise the 2006 parliamenta ...
