The ''Nastro d'Argento'' (Silver Ribbon) is a film award assigned each year, since 1946, by ''Sindacato Nazionale dei Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani'' ("Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists"), the association of Italian film critics. Thi is the list of the Nastro d'Argento Awards for the Best New Director, assigned since 1974. The Nastro d'Argento, also known by its translated name Silver Ribbon, is an Italian film award awarded each year since 1946 by the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists (Italian: ''Sindacato Nazionale Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani''). ''Così'' is a play by Australian playwright Louis Nowra which was first performed in 1992 at the Belvoir St Theatre in Sydney, Australia. Set in a Melbourne mental hospital in 1971, ''Così'' is semi-autobiographical, and is the sequel to his previous semi-autobiographical play, ''Summer of the Aliens''. The play was adapted into the 1996 film ''Cosi''. Plot summary Set several years after the events of ''Summer of the Aliens'', Lewis is now in a strained relationship with a bossy woman named Lucy, and in a friendship with political extremist, Nick. Lewis is always desperate for work as he states "I need the money". Luciano De Crescenzo (; 18 August 1928 – 18 July 2019) was an Italian writer, film actor, director and engineer. Biography Born in Naples, he grew up with actor Bud Spencer. De Crescenzo graduated in engineering and worked for IBM Italy until 1976, when he published the bestseller ''Così parlò Bellavista'' (''Thus spoke Bellavista''), a collection of facts and anecdotes about his city which sold 600,000 copies in Italy and was translated into numerous languages. Over the years De Crescenzo became an internationally successful author. Gabriele Lavia (born 10 October 1942) is an Italian actor, film director and theatre director. Biography Lavia was born in Milan, Lombardy. Since 1970 he has had roles in nearly thirty films and television programs. Franco Piavoli (born 21 June 1933) is an Italian film director, screenwriter, and producer. Biography Piavoli studied law at the University of Pavia in Lombardy. He was co-founder, together with Francesco Nuti and Athina Cenci, of the comedy ensemble "GianCattivi" with whom he achieved his first successes on stage and on television.
