Nanu Oya Railway Station
The Nanu Oya railway station is the 63rd station on the Main Line, and is away from Colombo. All trains including Podi Menike and Udarata Menike express trains service the station. The station was a junction and branching point for the Udupussallawa narrow gauge railway line connecting Nanu Oya with Ragala via Nuwara Eliya. The original train station was built in 1885 as the terminus of the main line, as part of the rail line connecting Hatton to Nanu Oya. In 1893 the railway line was extended from Nanu Oya to Bandarawela and in 1903 the station became a junction station when Udupussallawa railway line was constructed. In 1948 the government decided to close the Udapussellawa railway due to low traffic and the tracks were completely removed. Ambewela
Ambewela ( ta, அம்பேவளை, translit=Ampēvaḷai; si, අඹේවෙල, translit=Am̆bēvela) is a village, and a hill station, located in the Nuwara Eliya District of Sri Lanka. Bandarawela Railway Station
Bandarawela railway station is the 71st and eighth last railway station on the Main Line, and is away from Colombo. It is located above mean sea level and from the centre of Badulla, the capital city of Uva Province. All the trains that run on the Main Line, including the Podi Menike and Udarata Menike express trains stop at the station. The construction of the railway line between Haputale and Bandarawela commenced in 1887 but it wasn't until 1893 that work on the line was completed. The first train arriving at the station on 19 June 1893. Bandarawela was the terminus of the Main Line until the line was extended to Badulla in 1924. The station has a G2 locomotive on permanent display at the station. Hatton Railway Station (Sri Lanka)
Hatton Station is a railway station on the Main (Colombo-Badulla) railway line in Sri Lanka. It is situated between Rozella and Kotagala railway stations. It is along the railway line from the Colombo Fort Railway Station at an elevation of about above sea level. The Hatton railway station was opened on 4 June 1884 when the main line was extended from Nawalapitiya to Hatton. The station was the terminus of the main line until the line was extended to Nanu-Oya on 20 May 1885.
