National Army For The Liberation Of Uganda
The National Army for the Liberation of Uganda (abbreviated NALU) was a rebel group opposed to the Ugandan government. It was formed in 1988 in western Uganda and moved into eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, where it merged with the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), another Ugandan rebel group. The NALU was created by Amon Bazira, a former Deputy Minister under Obote. After negotiating the armistice between the colonial-era Rwenzururu secessionist group and the second Obote regime in 1982, he enlisted the financial support of the Kenyan and DR Congolese governments to renew the resistance against the new government under the National Resistance Movement (NRM). The National Agricultural Labourers Union (NALU) was a trade union representing farm workers in Great Britain. Foundation The union's origins lay in a meeting at Wellesbourne in Warwickshire, held in February 1872. Joseph Arch, a well-known labourer and Methodist preacher, addressed a meeting which was to have been held in the Stags Head pub. However, rather than the thirty or so labourers he had expected to attend, around 2,000 workers from across south Warwickshire turned up. Nalu Language
Nalu (''nalɛ'', ''nul''; also spelled Nalou) is an Atlantic language of Guinea and Guinea-Bissau, spoken by the Nalu people, a West African people who settled the region before the arrival of the Mandinka in the 14th or 15th centuries. It is spoken predominantly by adults. It is estimated to be spoken by a range of 10,000 to 25,000 people, whereas Wilson (2007) reports that there are around 12,000 speakers. It is considered an endangered language due to its dwindling population of speakers. Classification Contrary to prior classifications, Güldemann (2018) classifies Nalu as unclassified within Niger-Congo. It also does not form a subgroup with the Rio Nunez languages.
