Miss Korea 2008
52nd Miss Korea 2008 was a beauty pageant held on July 8, 2008 at Sejong Center, sponsored by the Korean newspaper ''Hankook Ilbo''. Approximately 51 women from around the world competed in Seoul, South Korea and seven were selected by a panel of judges. The first-place winner was Na Ree, crowned by the official last year winner Lee Ji-sun. Na Ree will complete at Miss Universe 2009 in the Bahamas. Additionally, there are two seon(선) finalists (first and second runners-up), first runner-up Choi Bo-in went to Miss World 2008 and the second runner-up Kim Min-jeong went to Miss International 2008. Lastly, fourth runner-up Seo Seol-hee represented Korea in Miss Earth 2008 in Manila, Philippines. (equivalent to semi-finalists) are chosen. Lee Ji-seon (Hangul: 이지선, born April 6, 1983), also known as Sun Lee in the Western media, is a South Korean actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder who attended Parsons The New School for Design. She was crowned Miss Korea 2007 and represented her country at the Miss Universe 2008 pageant held in Nha Trang, Vietnam with 79 other delegates. Miss Korea 2007 Lee competed in the 51st Miss Korea pageant, which she won. Lee donated 100% of her Miss Korea winnings to a charity fund for the elderly. Lee has also spent 3 days in North Korea as a Peace Ambassador for the World Trade Centers Association. Miss Korea ( ko, 미스코리아) is a national beauty pageant in South Korea. Lee Seung-hyeon won the title on October 26, 2022.
