NCHC Goaltender Of The Year
The NCHC Goaltender of the Year is an annual award given out at the conclusion of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference regular season to the best goalie in the conference as voted by the coaches of each NCHC team. The Goaltender of the Year was first awarded in 2014 and is a successor to the CCHA Best Goaltender which was discontinued after the conference dissolved due to the 2013–14 NCAA conference realignment. National Collegiate Hockey Conference
The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) is an NCAA men's Division I hockey conference formed on July 9, 2011. The league began playing for the 2013–14 season, the same season that the Big Ten Conference began competition, as a combination of six previous members of the WCHA and two of the CCHA. The league is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Josh Fenton has served as conference commissioner since July 1, 2013. History The men's college ice hockey landscape was shaken on March 21, 2011, when the Big Ten Conference was announced it would sponsor the sport following Penn State having fielding a team, bringing the number of Big Ten members with teams to six. Tanner Jaillet
Tanner Jaillet (born August 18, 1993) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He most recently played with Karlskrona HK in the HockeyAllsvenskan (Allsv). He helped Denver win their eighth National Title in 2017 and received the Mike Richter Award as the National Goaltender of the Year the same season. Playing career Junior Jaillet was an unheralded goaltender playing in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, going undrafted in his first year of eligibility despite his team reaching the league championship. On February 23, Lindenwood University announced that they would be promoting their athletic program to Division I for the 2022–23 academic year. Ryan Fanti (born October 3, 1999) is a Canadian ice hockey goaltender for the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL as a prospect for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He played college ice hockey for Minnesota Duluth. Playing career Collegiate Fanti began his collegiate career for Minnesota Duluth during the 2019–20 season, however, he did not appear in any games. During the 2020–21 season, he appeared in 20 games, with 19 starts, and posted a 10–6–2 record with a 2.40 goals against average (GAA) and .907 save percentage. The 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began on November 14, 2020 and concluded with the Frozen Four on April 10, 2021. Due to the cancellation of the previous year's tournament due to COVID-19 pandemic, this was the 73rd season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held, and was US college hockey's 127th year overall. Due to concerns related to the pandemic, the start of the season was delayed until what would have normally been the 8th week of play. Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs Men's Ice Hockey
The Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs men's ice hockey team is an NCAA Division I college ice hockey program that represents the University of Minnesota Duluth. The Bulldogs are a member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC). The team plays home games at the 6,800-seat AMSOIL Arena at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. Hunter Shepard
Hunter Markus Shepard (born November 7, 1995) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing with the Hershey Bears in the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL). Growing up in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Shepard attended Grand Rapids High School where he played prep school hockey and baseball.
