NCAA Men's Division I Outdoor Track And Field Championships
The NCAA Division I Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship is an annual collegiate outdoor track and field competition for men organised by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Athlete's individual performances earn points for their institution and the team with the most points receives the NCAA team title in track and field. A separate NCAA Division I women's competition is also held. These two events are separate from the NCAA Division I Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships and NCAA Division I Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships held during the winter. The first edition of the championship was held in 1921 and the competition expanded to two divisions in 1963, then three divisions in 1974. Ralph Boston
Ralph Harold Boston (born May 9, 1939) is a retired American track athlete who received three Olympic medals and became the first person to break the barrier in the long jump. Early years and education Boston was born in Laurel, Mississippi. As a student at Tennessee State University, he won the 1960 National Collegiate Athletic Association title in the long jump. In August of the same year, he broke the world record in the event, held by Jesse Owens for 25 years, at the Mt. SAC Relays. Vance Johnson
Vance Edward Johnson (born March 13, 1963), is a former professional American football player who was selected by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 1985 NFL Draft. Playing career A 5'11", 174 lb. wide receiver, Johnson played college football at the University of Arizona, where he functioned as a multipurpose running back. In four seasons as a starter for the Wildcats, Johnson amassed 2,885 yards from scrimmage, 104 receptions, and 31 touchdowns, while also returning 62 kickoffs for 1,369 yards and another score. James David Lofton (born July 5, 1956) is an American former professional football player and coach. He is a former coach for the San Diego Chargers but is best known for his years in the National Football League as a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers (1978–1986), Los Angeles Raiders (1987–1988), the Buffalo Bills (1989–1992), Los Angeles Rams (1993) and Philadelphia Eagles (1993). Larry Myricks
Larry Myricks (born 10 March 1956) is an American former athlete, who mainly competed in the long jump event. He is a two-time winner of the World Indoor Championships (1987, 1989) and a two-time winner of the World Cup (1979, 1989). He also won a bronze medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, and bronze medals at the World Championships in 1987 and 1991. Career Myricks was born in Clinton, Mississippi. Charlton Ehizuelen
Charlton Ehizuelen (born 30 November 1953) is a Nigerian former track and field athlete who competed in the long jump and triple jump. He set personal bests of and for the events, respectively. The latter mark from 1975 remains the Nigerian indoor record. As an international competitor, he became the first person to win both long jump and triple jump titles at the All-Africa Games, doing so at the 1978 Games in Algiers. Finn Bendixen (born 27 June 1949) is a Norwegian long jumper. He represented Lillesand IL and IF Kamp-Vestheim. He finished fourteenth in the long jump final at the 1971 European Championships with a jump of 7.32 metres. He also competed at the 1969 European Championships and the 1972 Summer Olympics without reaching the finals. He became Norwegian champion in long jump in 1970, 1972, 1979 and 1980. James E. "Bouncy" Moore (born June 4, 1951) is a retired American track and field athlete, known for the long jump (thus the nickname he acquired). He was a two time National Champion. He was the silver medalist at the 1971 Pan American Games. While competing for the University of Oregon, his points as runner up in the 1970 Long Jump at the NCAA Championships helped Oregon gain enough points to tie for the National Championship with BYU and Kansas. Arnie Paul Robinson Jr. (April 7, 1948 – December 1, 2020) was an American athlete. He won a bronze medal in the long jump at the 1972 Olympics and a gold medal in 1976. Early life and education Arnie Paul Robinson Jr. was born in San Diego in 1948. He mother, Verneater Robinson, worked as a volunteer at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in San Diego.
