Wendy Brown (heptathlete)
Wendy Renee Brown (born January 28, 1966) is a retired heptathlete and triple jumper from the United States. She competed in the heptathlon at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, finishing in 18th place behind teammate Jackie Joyner Kersee's still current world record. As the event was in transition to become an official event, she set the world record in the women's triple jump twice in the mid-1980s. Because this was before the event was declared official, neither of those records were officially ratified. Brown went to the University of Southern California where she won the 1986 NCAA Indoor Championship in the Triple Jump and later winning 1988 NCAA Championship in the Heptathlon. She is still the school record holder in the Triple Jump and Heptathlon, as well as being ranked second in Long Jump and High Jump, and fifth in the Javelin throw. Diane Claire Guthrie-Gresham (born October 24, 1971) is a retired female track and field athlete from Jamaica, who specialized in the Long Jump and Heptathlon during her career. Diane holds the National Collegiate Athletics Association championship meet record for women's Heptathlon, as well as the Caribbean record for that event. Competing for George Mason University, she compiled a total of 6527 at the University of Tennessee's Tom Black Track in Knoxville, Tennessee, between 2–3 June 1995. She won her second NCAA title with that mark, and also broke Jackie Joyner-Kersee's NCAA meet record. Joyner-Kersee had set the record of 6390 points in Houston in 1983 when she was competing for UCLA, by 137 points. Kelly Blair LaBounty (born November 24, 1970) is a retired American track and field Olympic athlete. Collegiate career Kelly Blair LaBounty attended the University of Oregon playing two sports, basketball and track and field. After two seasons she decided her basketball career would have to come to an end to focus on track. At Oregon she won a national title in the heptathlon in 1993. Olympics Blair LaBounty placed sixth in the women's heptathlon in the 1996 Olympic Games held in Atlanta, Georgia, and also qualified for the 2000 Summer Olympics, but missed the games due to injury. She defeated Jackie Joyner-Kersee in the Olympic trials of 1996. Blair LaBounty placed third in the 1998 Goodwill Games in the heptathlon. Anu Kaljurand
Anu Kaljurand (born 16 April 1969) is a retired Estonian heptathlete. Career She finished seventeenth in the heptathlon at the 1992 Summer Olympics and won the gold medal at the 1992 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Her score of 6142 points was her lifetime best, and was unmatched at the Championships since Jackie Joyner in 1983. She also competed individually in the heptathlon events, winning the silver medal in the long jump at both the 1986 World Junior Championships and the 1988 World Junior Championships.
