N. Gopi
N. Gopi (Telugu: ఎన్. గోపి; born 25 June 1948) is an eminent Indian poet, and literary critic in Telugu and Sahitya Akademi Award recipient. He has also been in the University system as a professor and Dean since 1974, until retiring in 2008. He has also held the post of the Vice Chancellor of Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad. Gopi's poetry displays nativity and a national outlook. He has published 57 books including 28 poetry collections, 7 essay collections, 3 research works, 6 travelogues, 5 translations, 2 commentaries, and 4 column writings, apart from 3 textbooks for schools and for adult education projects. His poetry collections have been translated into several Indian languages and foreign like Hindi, English, Gujarati, Tamil. Malayalam, Marathi, Konkani. Bhongir, Telangana
Bhongir, officially known as, Bhuvanagiri is a district headquarters of the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district and part of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region of the Indian state of Telangana. Falling under Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority, the town is located on National Highway 163 & National Highway 161AA (India), about 47 km from state capital Hyderabad Central Point Etymology Bhuvanagiri Fort is one of the isolated monolithic rocks carved by the Western Chalukya ruler Tribhuvanamalla Vikramaditya VI and was thus named after him as Tribhuvanagiri. Ramesh Veluskar
Ramesh Veluskar was a Konkani poet and litterateur from Goa. He died on October 21, 2018. Background Veluskar was a school teacher for 33 years, and has taught Konkani, Marathi and Hindi. Veluskar has written poetry, essays, novellas, and dramas for children. While in Bhubaneswar to study Bengali in order to understand art appreciation in Delhi, he met the Uttar Pradesh-born Mithilesh Kumari Srivastava, whom he married in 1982. He has mastered Marathi, Konkani and Bengali languages. Interests, skills He was trained in Indian classical vocals, does caricatures, and also acted in drama. Sahitya Akademi
The Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters, is an organisation dedicated to the promotion of literature in the languages of India. Founded on 12 March 1954, it is supported by, though independent of, the Indian government. Its office is located in Rabindra Bhavan near Mandi House in Delhi. The Sahitya Akademi organises national and regional workshops and seminars; provides research and travel grants to authors; publishes books and journals, including the ''Encyclopaedia of Indian Literature''; and presents the annual Sahitya Akademi Award of INR. 100,000 in each of the 24 languages it supports, as well as the Sahitya Akademi Fellowship for lifetime achievement. The Kala Ratna ( te, కళారత్న) earlier Hamsa Award, is a civilian honour of the Andhra Pradesh state are conferred annually by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and is organised by the State Cultural Council and Department of Culture on the occasion of Telugu new year, Ugadi. Naneelu
Naneelu is a form of Telugu literature which contains 4 lines and a minimum of 20 letters, not exceeding 25. This form was introduced by Sahitya Akademi Award winner Professor N. Gopi. Naneelu was introduced in the year 2002 by Dr N Gopi through his book ''Naeelu''. Properties Naneelu should have 4 lines and never have less than 20 and never exceed 25 letters. If one were to pause at the end of the second line, the executed meaning is incomplete. At the same time, the first is not clear unless one reads the second part. That means though appearing as identical in structure and as two sentences, the poem reaches completion only when united in thought. Nomenclature ''Nani'' is a word used in Telugu Community to call their children with love. Dr N Gopi wanted to name this form with something very connected to Telugu people.
