N.O.R.E.
Victor James Santiago Jr. (born September 6, 1977), better known by his stage names Noreaga and later N.O.R.E., is an American rapper. Born and raised in Queens, New York, Santiago first rose to prominence as one half of the East Coast hip hop duo Capone-N-Noreaga (C-N-N), alongside fellow Queens-based rapper Capone. He would also have success as a solo artist with the chart-topping singles "Superthug", "Banned from T.V.", " Nothin'" and "Oye Mi Canto". Santiago has released music under various record labels, including Penalty, Roc-La-Familia, Def Jam, and Babygrande Records. In June 2011, it was announced Santiago partnered with fellow American rapper Busta Rhymes' Conglomerate label, where he released his 2013 album ''Student of the Game'', issued under E1 Music. ''Student of the Game'' is the sixth studio album by American hip hop recording artist N.O.R.E. (a.k.a. P.A.P.I). The album was released on April 16, 2013, under Militainment Business, Conglomerate and E1 Music. The album features guest appearances from French Montana, 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne, Pusha T, Pharrell, Pete Rock, Havoc, Jeremih, Mick Jones, Large Professor, Swizz Beatz, Raekwon, Tech N9ne, Busta Rhymes and Scarface among others. Background The album was originally titled ''N.O.R.E. Pt. 2: Born Again'' (the album was intended to be a sequel to Noreaga's debut album ''N.O.R.E.''). However, the title was later changed to ''S.U.P.E.R.T.H.U.G.'', referencing his 1998 hit single "Superthug". Oye Mi Canto
"Oye Mi Canto" ( en, "Hear My Song") is a reggaeton single by N.O.R.E. The song was originally released in 2004 as the lead single from the album ''1 Fan a Day'', which was heretofore unreleased. It is his second biggest hit, peaking at number 12 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. It was later included on the 2006 album '' N.O.R.E. y la Familia...Ya Tú Sabe''. The song features Nina Sky and reggaeton artists Gem Star, Daddy Yankee and Big Mato. The song originally featured Tego Calderón in place of Daddy Yankee but was later changed for the video. However, the Tego version was released by famous reggaeton label Planet Records Italy, instead of Island Def Jam, N.O.R.E.'s original label. Superthug
"Superthug" is a song by New York City rapper N.O.R.E. (a.k.a. Noreaga) with background vocals from Tammy Lucas during the song's hook. It was released as the second single from his debut solo album, ''N.O.R.E.''. At the time, it became Noreaga's highest charting and most successful single, peaking at No. 36 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and reaching No. 1 on the Hot Rap Songs chart. "Nothin'" is the lead single from American rapper N.O.R.E.'s third studio album, ''God's Favorite'' (2002). The song was produced by the Neptunes and features Neptunes member Pharrell Williams performing the song's hook. Capone-N-Noreaga (also known as C-N-N) are an American hip hop duo formed in 1995 from Queens, New York. The duo features East Coast rappers Capone and N.O.R.E. Roc-La-Familia was an American record label founded by Shawn "JAY-Z" Carter. This sub-label focused on signing international artists, including reggaeton artists, much like Bad Boy Latino. "OG" Juan Perez was appointed the president of the label Robert Castillo EVP and Cipha Sounds was the senior vice president of A&R (until he got a job at MTV in 2006). Roc La Familia was an extension of Roc-A-Fella Records and headquartered in New York City. Kiam Akasi Holley (born February 8, 1976), better known by his stage name Capone, is an American rapper known as one half of the East Coast hip hop duo Capone-N-Noreaga (C-N-N), alongside friend and fellow rapper N.O.R.E.. Career Holley spent some time in jail after the release of C-N-N's debut album ''The War Report.'' When he was released, he and N.O.R.E. recorded their second album '' The Reunion'', but shortly after releasing the album, Capone was sent back to jail.
