N.I. David Memorial Trophy
N.I. David Memorial Trophy is an annual inter-club football tournament held at Thrissur Municipal Corporation Stadium, Thrissur. The football championship was started in 1996 by the then Superintendent of Police in memory of N. I. David IPS who died whilst in office as the Commandant, KAP 1st Battalion, Thrissur. The tournament is run by a society with the Superintendent of Police as President. Thrissur Municipal Corporation Stadium
Thrissur Corporation Stadium is a football stadium owned by Thrissur Municipal Corporation. Situated in Thrissur city, it is also known as Palace Stadium. It is one of the oldest stadiums in Kerala, India and has capacity to hold 15,000 people. After renovation, and it has been lifted to international standards. The stadium has first synthetic football turf in Kerala state and FIFA 2 star certification. History Municipal Corporation Stadium was the venue for the largest and highest temporary stadium in the world according to Guinness World Records, which can hold 35,000 spectators at a height of 70 feet. Thrissur (), formerly Trichur, also known by its historical name Thrissivaperur, is a city and the headquarters of the Thrissur district in Kerala, India. The Thrissur Municipal Corporation is the civic body that governs the Thrissur city in Kerala, India. It is the third largest city Corporation in the state of Kerala by area and fourth largest in population. Established as a Municipality since 1921 under the Cochin Municipal Regulations, it is responsible for civic infrastructure and administration; the distribution of electricity and water for Thrissur city.
