Młynów Metro Station
Młynów is a M2 metro line Warsaw Metro station in Wola district, by the intersection of Górczewska and Syreny streets. It is part of the extension of Line M2 from Rondo Daszyńskiego to Wola, with construction started in 2016. All three stations opened on April 4, 2020. The station is 168.2 m in length, and the cubic capacity at 56 636 m³. The blue colour scheme of the station refers to the nearby swimming pool in Moczydło estate. Description The station is located 300 m west of the Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases (Polish: ''Instytut Gruźlicy i Chorób Płuc'') of the Ministry of Health, and 300 m east of the Park Moczydło and Park Edwarda Szymańskiego. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. M2 (Warsaw)
Line M2 is the second line of the Warsaw Metro. It is 19 km long, has 18 stations and runs from Bródno metro station, Bródno neighborhood in Targówek district to the Bemowo metro station, Ulrychów district in Wola. The planned line completion is in 2023, and will run from Targówek to Bemowo and number 21 stations. The route of the M2 metro line was confirmed in 2006. In 2007 followed the announcement of a tender for the completion of the central section of the route from Wola to Praga. In 2008 the tender was cancelled due to exceeding offers and a new tender was announced. In 2009 the tender was complete and an agreement with the AGP Metro Polska consortium was signed. On 30 September 2014 the construction of the central section was complete and the final acceptance of the investment followed. The line opened on 4 March 2015. Warsaw Metro
The Warsaw Metro ( pl, Metro Warszawskie) is a rapid transit underground system serving the Polish capital Warsaw. It currently consists of two lines, the north-south Line M1 which links central Warsaw with its densely populated northern and southern districts, and the east-west Line M2, of which the westernmost segment is in construction. A third line ( M3) is still being planned. The system is operated by Metro Warszawskie sp. z o.o., a company owned by the city, and managed by Zarząd Transportu Miejskiego w Warszawie (ZTM Warszawa). Wola
Wola (, ) is a district in western Warsaw, Poland, formerly the village of Wielka Wola, incorporated into Warsaw in 1916. An industrial area with traditions reaching back to the early 19th century, it underwent a transformation into an office (commercial) and residential district. Several museums are located in Wola, notably the Warsaw Uprising Museum. Rondo Daszyńskiego Metro Station
Rondo Daszyńskiego is a station on the central part of Line M2 of the Warsaw Metro. The station fully opened for passenger use on 8 March 2015 as the western terminus of the inaugural stretch of Line M2 between Rondo Daszyńskiego and Dworzec Wileński. It was designed by Polish architect Andrzej M. Chołdzyński and constructed by Metroprojekt. Murals were created by Wojciech Fangor, artist of the Polish School of Posters. The station is located just west of Rondo Daszyńskiego (Daszyński Roundabout), named in honor of Ignacy Daszyński. Construction of the station was made difficult by adverse hydrological conditions.
