Mārtiņš Brauns
Mārtiņš Brauns (17 September 1951 – 24 November 2021) was a Latvian composer and musician. He composed multiple pieces, most notable of which is '' Saule, Pērkons, Daugava'', a choir song regularly performed at the Latvian Song and Dance Festival. Career Brauns studied at the Emīls Dārziņš Music School from 1958 to 1970, studying piano and choir, before moving on to study conducting and music theory after his voice started changing. He then studied at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music between 1970 and 1976. From 1975 to 1986, he led the rock band . From 1986 and until his death, Brauns was a member of the Latvian Filmmakers Union and has composed music for various films. In addition to film scores, Brauns wrote and composed multiple pieces for various theatre plays. Mārtiņš Ints Rītiņš (19 October 1949 – 11 February 2022) was a British-born Latvian chef, restaurateur, businessman, culinary TV presenter and author. He was also the President of Latvian Slow Food Association and has been called "The Father of Modern Latvian Cuisine". Biography Rītiņš was born in 1949 at a refugee camp in Nantwich, Cheshire, to Latvian parents who had fled Latvia from the advancing Red Army at the end of World War II. He grew up in Corby, Northamptonshire before moving to London to become a chef. In 1971, Rītiņš graduated from Westminster Technical College in London. Mārtiņš Bondars
Mārtiņš Bondars (born 31 December 1971) is a Latvian financier and politician. He has been member of the Latvian parliament since 2014. Bondars previously served as chief of staff to then President of Latvia Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga and chairman of the Latvijas Krājbanka board (until 2009). He was the leader of the Latvian Association of Regions and a member of its constituent party, the Regional Alliance. He participated in the Latvian election for President in 2015 as the nominee of his alliance. Mārtiņš Nukša
Mārtiņš Nukša (29 September 1878 – 17 May 1942) was a Latvian people, Latvian diplomat and architect. He worked as an architect in Riga during the Art Nouveau architecture in Riga, heyday of Art Nouveau architecture and from 1920 as a diplomat representing Latvia. He was arrested by Soviet authorities after the Soviet occupation of Latvia in 1940, occupation of Latvia and executed in 1942. Mārtiņš Freimanis (7 February 1977 – 27 January 2011) was a Latvian musician, singer, songwriter, actor, and TV personality. Freimanis was born in Liepāja, but spent his childhood in Aizpute. Mārtiņš Rubenis (born 26 September 1978) is a retired Latvian luger who competed between 1998 and 2014. Mārtiņš Peniķis (1874–1964) was a Latvian general and commander in chief of Latvian Army from 1928 to 1934. He was awarded with Order of Lāčplēsis and Order of the Three stars. Mārtiņš Pļaviņš (born 8 May 1985 in Riga) is a Latvian beach volleyball player. He teamed up with Aleksandrs Samoilovs in 2004. Pļaviņš and team mate Samoilovs represented Latvia at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China after which they stopped playing together.
