Münsterland Giro
The Münsterland Giro is a cycling race annually held in Münsterland, Germany. It was first held in 2006 as a 1.2 race of the UCI Europe Tour, becoming a 1.1 race in 2007 and a 1.HC race in 2015. The race became part of the new UCI ProSeries The UCI ProSeries is the second tier men's elite road cycling tour. It was inaugurated in 2020. Paul Martens
Paul Martens (born 26 October 1983) is a German former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2006 and 2021. Career Amateur years Martens started racing junior level events in 2000 showing no particular specialization finishing in the middle of the pack in the Niedersachsen Juniors and Cottbuser Juniors races. In 2001 he started to show some form finishing 3rd in Stage 1 of LVM Saarland Trofeo beating the chasing peloton by 2 seconds. Later in the year he finished 10th overall at the Münsterland Tour Juniors a race he would win the senior version of later in his career. In 2002 he rode the Istrian Spring Trophy finishing 56th overall with his best result coming in the stage 3 sprint where he finished 16th. The 2022 Münsterland Giro (known as the Sparkasse Münsterland Giro for sponsorship reasons) was the 16th edition of the Münsterland Giro road cycling one day race, held mostly in the titular region of northwest Germany on 3 October 2022. 2021 Münsterland Giro
The 2021 Münsterland Giro (known as the Sparkasse Münsterland Giro for sponsorship reasons) was the 15th edition of the Münsterland Giro road cycling one day race, held mostly in the titular region of northwest Germany on 3 October 2021. This edition was the race's first in the UCI ProSeries; the 2020 edition was expected to feature in the inaugural UCI ProSeries but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The race started in Enschede, just across the border in the Netherlands. After crossing into Germany, riders take on several hills, consisting of the two ascents each of the Coesfelder Berg and the Daruper Berg and one ascent of the Schöppinger Berg. The first of two sprint points was in Laer after , with a second sprint point later near Altenberge.
