Vác (; german: Waitzen; sk, Vacov; yi, ווייצען) is a town in Pest county in Hungary with approximately 35,000 inhabitants. The archaic spelling of the name is ''Vácz''. Location Vác is located north of Budapest on the eastern bank of the Danube river, below the bend where the river changes course and flows south. The town is seated at the foot of the Naszály Mountain in the foothills of the Carpathians. Modern Vác Vác is a commercial center as well as a popular summer resort for citizens of Budapest. ''Jupiter's Moon'' ( hu, Jupiter holdja) is a 2017 Hungarian drama film directed by Kornél Mundruczó. It competed for the Palme d'Or in the main competition section at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. Plot Aryan Dashni from Homs, Syria, and his father are part of a group of refugees trying to cross the Hungarian border via boat. During the border crossing, Aryan and his father lose their papers and are separated when the group is discovered by a border guard unit and chaos ensues. Aryan is shot several times by police officer László, but instead of dying he mysteriously obtains the power to levitate.
