Mónica Troadello
Mónica Troadello (born 1955) is an Argentina, Argentine politician and a member of the Justicialist Party. She is a former Senator for Mendoza Province and was part of the majority Front for Victory parliamentary group. Troadello, a lawyer by profession, had served at the provincial Irrigation Department since 1997. A former follower of José Octavio Bordón, she was attracted to active politics by Carlos Abihaggle, former candidate for the governorship of Mendoza. Troadello entered the Senate in 2007 to complete the term of Celso Jaque who had been elected Governor of Mendoza. She had been third on the list for the Justicialists in the 2005 elections. The Honorable Senate of the Argentine Nation ( es, Honorable Senado de la Nación Argentina) is the upper house of the National Congress of Argentina. Overview The National Senate was established by the Argentine Confederation on July 29, 1854, pursuant to Articles 46 to 54 of the 1853 Constitution. There are 72 members: three for each province and three for the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. The number of senators per province was raised from two to three following the 1994 amendment of the Argentine Constitution as well as the addition of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires' senators. Those changes took effect following the May 14, 1995, general elections. The Constitution (1916) of Mendoza Province, Argentina, states that the executive power of the province will be led by a citizen chosen as a governor by the people for a four-year term, and not allowed to be re-elected for the immediately following term. Before it was constituted as a province in 1920, Mendoza Province was known as the Province of Cuyo. Before 1813, it was part of Córdoba Province. The office of governor came into existence when the independent province was created. José Octavio Bordón
José Octavio Bordón (born 22 December 1945) is an Argentine politician and diplomat. He was governor of Mendoza Province from 1987 to 1991, and served in both houses of the National Congress as a National Deputy and a National Senator. Most recently, he was the Argentine ambassador to the United States from 2003 to 2007 and to Chile from 2016 to 2019. Life and career Born in Rosario in 1945, Bordón graduated in sociology from the Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires in 1970. He was Professor of Political Sociology at Universidad Nacional de Cuyo from 1972 to 1976, and again from 1983 to 1995. He became President of the Fundación Andina in 1982. In 1983 he was elected to the Argentine Chamber of Deputies as deputy for Mendoza Province for the Justicialist Party. He was deputy chairman of the foreign affairs committee.
