Míra Emberovics (born 29 July 1988 in Pécs) is a former Hungarian handballer. Emberovics previously played for Veszprém Barabás KC, having joined the club in the summer of 2010, after agreed a mutual termination over her contract with Ferencváros in June. Vasas SC (Women's Handball)
Vasas SC () is one of Hungary's major sports clubs. Most of its facilities are situated in Budapest's 13th district in the north of the town. Members of the ''Hungarian Union of Iron Workers'' founded the club as ''Vas- és Fémmunkások Sport Clubja'', the "Sport Club of Iron and Metal Workers", on 16 March 1911. The club colours are red and blue. Vasas FC has won the Hungarian League six times. Vasas is known internationally for reaching the semi-finals of the 1957–58 European Cup season, the quarter-finals in the 1967–68 European Cup season, and for being the most successful club in the Mitropa Cup with 6 championships. Ferencvárosi Torna Club is a Hungarian women's handball team from Budapest, that is part of the multi-sports club Ferencvárosi TC. Nicknamed ''Fradi'', the team plays in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, the top level championship in Hungary. They are one of the most successful clubs in the country, having won eleven Hungarian championships and as many Hungarian cup titles. FTC also enjoy a good reputation in continental competitions: they lifted the EHF Cup Winners' Cup trophy in 1978, 2011, and 2012, and they were also crowned as the EHF Cup winners in 2006. Veszprém Barabás Kézilabda Club was a women's handball team from Veszprém. History The club was founded under the name Veszprém Vasas in 1966, but went through a name evolution during the years. It has been changed to Bakony Vasas and Bakony Vegyész later, after the nearby mountain Bakony. The team enjoyed their best spell from the late 60's to the early 80's, having won the championship title once and being runners-up five times. That time the club had players like the World Cup winner Erzsébet Lengyel or Borbála Tóth Harsányi and her sister Katalin Tóth Harsányi, who have won bronze medal on the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montréal. In the late eighties, due to the lack of financials the team slowly decreased, and got relegated to Nemzeti Bajnokság I/B in 1986. Team Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it.
