Mégantic-Compton (provincial Electoral District)
Megantic-Compton is a former provincial electoral district in the Estrie region of Quebec, Canada. As of its final election, it included the municipalities of East Angus, Cookshire-Eaton, Lac-Mégantic, Weedon, Lac-Drolet and Chartierville. It was created for the 1973 election from parts of Frontenac, Compton, and Wolfe electoral districts; despite the name, it did not include any part of the territory of the former Mégantic electoral district. Its final election was in 2008. It disappeared in the 2012 election and the successor electoral district was the recreated Mégantic. Coaticook is a regional county municipality in the Estrie region of Quebec, Canada. The seat is Coaticook. History On September 3, 1783, as a result of the signing of the Treaty of Paris the American Revolutionary War ended with Great Britain. Quebec's border with the states of Vermont and New Hampshire was established at 45 degrees north latitude. Nantes () is a municipality in Le Granit Regional County Municipality in the Estrie region of Quebec, Canada. It is situated between Stornoway and Lac-Mégantic, where the Canadian Pacific Railway used to cross. Its population in the Canada 2011 Census was 1,374. History Nantes used to be called Spring Hill.
