Médine Zaouiche (; born 24 February 1983 in Le Havre), better known by his stage name Médine, is a French rapper of Algerian descent. He has been a part of the hip hop collective La Boussole since 1996. Médine is a practicing Muslim, and many of his lyrics deal with the hardships of migrants, oppressed individuals, and Muslims in the Western world. One article he wrote for ''Time'' magazine after the 2005 riots was entitled "How Much More French Can I Be". Médine is French for Medina. Le Havre (, ; nrf, Lé Hâvre ) is a port city in the Seine-Maritime department in the Normandy region of northern France. Youssef Akdim (Berber languages, Berber: ⵢⵓⵙⴻⴼ ⴰⵇⴷⵉⵎ, ar, يوسف أقديم, link=no; born 4 July 1985), better known as Lartiste (), is a Moroccans in France, French-Moroccan singer and rapper. Born in Imintanoute, Morocco, he emigrated to France at 7 years old, having lived in Bondy and later in Le Blanc-Mesnil, outside of Paris. Islam in France is a minority faith. Alix Mathurin (; born 28 December 1977) better known as Kery James, is a French rapper, singer, songwriter, dancer and record producer from Orly, who was born in Guadeloupe to Haitian parents.
