Mzaar Ski Resort
Mzaar Kfardebian ( ar, مزار كفردبيان — formerly ''Faraya Mzaar'') is a ski area in Lebanon and the largest ski resort in the Middle East. It is located one hour away from Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. It is also referred to as Ouyoune el Simane. History In 1960, Sami Geammal, Emile Riachi and a group of pioneers installed the first ski lift imported from Switzerland, on the "refuge" hill and built the first four chalets in the region. One year later, they bought of property from Prosper Gay-Para in order to expand the resort area. In 1963, the Faraya Mzaar - Tourism and Winter Sports Company was launched with Sheikh Salim El-Khazen as the principal shareholder and financed by banker Joseph Abdo Khoury, who later became the company chairman and general manager. Kfardebian
Kfardebian ( ar, كفر دبيان; also spelled ''Kfar Dibiane'' and also known as Moucha'a Keserwan) is a municipality in the Keserwan District of the Keserwan-Jbeil Governorate in Lebanon. It is located 45 kilometers north of Beirut. Its average elevation is 1,220 meters above sea level and its total land area is 2,960 hectares. Kfardebian inhabitants are predominantly Melkite and Maronite Christians. Kfardebian gathers the oldest and largest skiing resorts in Lebanon and the Middle East, such as Mzaar Kfardebian and Faqra Kfardebian, as well as many historical and touristic sites, such as Qalaat Faqra. Qalaat Faqra
Qalaat Faqra is an archaeological site in Kfardebian, Lebanon, with Roman and Byzantine ruins. Located near the Faqra ski resort on the slopes of Mount Sannine at an altitude of 1500 m, it is one of the most important sites of the UNESCO-listed Nahr al-Kalb valley. The ruins are the most extensive Roman archeological site in Mount Lebanon that consists of columns, altars tombs and temples, including the Claudius Tower with its Greek inscription that states that the building, which at one time was topped with a pyramid-shaped roof like Kamouh el Hermel, was renovated by the Roman emperor Claudius in honor of Adonis in CE 43–44. A G-string is a type of thong, a narrow piece of fabric, leather, or satin that covers or holds the genitals, passes between the buttocks, and is attached to a waistband around the hips. Faraya
Faraya ( ar, فاريا) is a village and municipality in the Keserwan District of the Keserwan-Jbeil Governorate, Lebanon. It is located 46 kilometers north of Beirut. Elevation start from 1290 meters to 2000 meters above sea level and its total land area is 870 hectares. Faraya's inhabitants are predominantly Maronite Christians. History According to the 17th-century historian and Maronite patriarch Istifan al-Duwayhi, Faitroun was settled by Shia Muslims from Baalbek in the 16th century. Ottoman tax records, which did not differentiate between Muslim communities, indicate the village had 45 Muslim and 17 Christian households and one imam in 1523, 29 Muslim and 9 Christian households in 1530, and 43 Muslim and 16 Christian households in 1543.
