Mytown
Mytown was an Irish boy band formed in 1996 by members Danny O'Donoghue, Dermot Browne (World's Apart), Mark Sheehan, Terry Daly and Paul Walker. They released one album, the epomynous '' Mytown'' and had a number of singles before splitting up in 2001, however Browne left before then after a falling out with Louis Walsh citing irreconcilable differences. Two of the prominent members of the band, namely Danny O'Donoghue and Mark Sheehan, went on to form the pop rock band The Script The Script are an Irish rock band formed in 2001 in Dublin, consisting of lead vocalist and keyboardist Danny O'Donoghue, lead guitarist Mark Sheehan, and drummer Glen Power. The band moved to London after signing to Sony Label Group imprin .... On 14 April 2023, Sheehan died at the age of 46 following a brief illness. ''Mytown'' is the eponymous only studio album released by Irish boy band Mytown. The debut album was the only album released by the band before their break-up in 2001, with two of its members (Danny O'Donoghue and Mark Sheehan) later going on to form the alternative rock band The Script. Four singles were released from the album: "Do It Like This", which was only released in Ireland, "Body Bumpin'", which was only released in the United States, "Now That I Found You", which was only released in the United States and Australia, and "Party All Night". Only the latter of these reached the UK Singles Chart, peaking at No.22. Although the album was planned for release internationally, both the British and Irish releases never saw the light of day; and the album was only released in the United States, Canada and Australia. Danny O'Donoghue
Daniel John Mark Luke O'Donoghue (born 3 October 1980) is an Irish singer-songwriter best known for being the frontman of the Irish rock band The Script and as a coach on the first two series of the television singing talent show ''The Voice UK''. He was earlier a member of the Irish boy band Mytown. Early life Danny O'Donoghue was born in Dublin, Ireland, to Shay O'Donoghue, a member of the band ''The Dreams'', and Ailish O'Donoghue. He is the youngest of six children and was raised in Ballinteer, Dublin. As a child, he was initially against the idea of being a musician; however, he ended up dropping out of school to pursue a musical career. Early career O'Donoghue was originally a member of a late 1990s band called Mytown with friend (and now also band member of The Script) Mark Sheehan, after being signed to Universal Records in 1999. The Script are an Irish rock band formed in 2001 in Dublin, consisting of lead vocalist and keyboardist Danny O'Donoghue, lead guitarist Mark Sheehan, and drummer Glen Power. The band moved to London after signing to Sony Label Group imprint Phonogenic and released their eponymous debut album in August 2008, preceded by the debut single "We Cry" as well as other singles such as "The Man Who Can't Be Moved", "Breakeven" and "Before the Worst". The album peaked at number one in both Ireland and the UK.
