Myron Stevens (American Football)
Myron B. Stevens was a college football player. Maryland Stevens was a prominent halfback for the Maryland Terrapins of the University of Maryland, selected All-Southern in 1926. Maryland that year defeated Yale, "The Blue apparently underestimated the Southern eleven, which uncovered an all-around star in Myron Stevens." Stevens also played baseball and basketball. He was inducted into the Maryland Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990. Halfback (American Football)
A halfback (HB) is an offensive position in American football, whose duties involve lining up in the offensive backfield and carrying the ball on most rushing plays, i.e. a running back. When the principal ball carrier lines up deep in the backfield, and especially when that player is placed behind another player (usually a blocking back), as in the I formation, that player is instead referred to as a tailback. Sometimes the halfback can catch the ball from the backfield on short passing plays as they are an eligible receiver. Occasionally, they line up as additional wide receivers. Maryland Terrapins Football
The Maryland Terrapins football team represents the University of Maryland, College Park in the sport of American football. The Terrapins compete in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and the Big Ten Conference. The Terrapins joined the Big Ten Conference on July 1, 2014, following 62 years in the Atlantic Coast Conference as a founding member. Mike Locksley is the head coach of the Terrapins. The honor was given annually to the best players at their respective positions. It is analogous to the All-America Team and was most often selected in newspapers.
