Mykonos B.C. (alternate spelling: Mykonou) is a Greek professional basketball club that is located in Mykonos, Greece.The home of the team is a small indoor hall called Panagiotis Chaniotis Ano Mera Indoor Hall. History Mykonos basketball club was founded in 1981, and in 1989 became a member of the Hellenic Basketball Federation. On July 14, 2023, it was announced that Mykonos gained a wild card to compete to the Greek A2 Elite League for the first time in the club's history. Arena For a long period of time, the club didn't have its own indoor hall in the island of Mykonos and was forced to play their home games to the island of Tinos. Ιν 2020, the new arena in Mykonos called Panagiotis Chaniotis Ano Mera Indoor Hall was opened, and since then, the club gives there its home games. The Greek A2 Basket League ( el, Ελληνική Α2 Μπάσκετ Λιγκ, link=no), is a professional basketball league in Greece. It is the 2nd-tier level of pro competition, among clubs in the country. It is organized by the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.). History In the 1986–87 season, the current format for Greek professional basketball, consisting of the A1 National Category and the A2 National Category was formed. The Greek Basketball Cup or Hellenic Basketball Cup (Greek language, Greek: Κύπελλο Ελλάδος καλαθοσφαίρισης ανδρών) is the top-tier level annual pro basketball national cup competition in Greece. It is organized by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.). History and format There were no official nation-wide Greek Cup competitions prior to the 1975–76 season. However, there was a precursor tournament to the Greek Cup, called the Attica State Cup, which was won by AEK Athens B.C., AEK, in the 1966–67 and 1970–71 seasons. Mykonos (, ; el, Μύκονος ) is a Greek island, part of the Cyclades, lying between Tinos, Syros, Paros and Naxos. The island has an area of and rises to an elevation of at its highest point. Vangelis Ziagkos
Evangelos "Vangelis" Ziagkos (alternate spellings: Vaggelis, Ziagos) (born March 14, 1976; el, Βαγγέλης Ζιάγκος) is a Greek professional basketball coach, currently managing Iraklis of the Greek Basket League. Playing career Ziagkos played youth club basketball with Attalos Nea Filadelfeia, and also played in the Greek minor leagues with the same club's men's team. The Hellenic Basketball Federation ( el, Ελληνική Ομοσπονδία Καλαθοσφαίρισης, abbreviated as Ε.Ο.Κ.) is the main basketball governing body for the sport in Greece. Tinos
Tinos ( el, Τήνος ) is a Greek island situated in the Aegean Sea. It is located in the Cyclades archipelago. The closest islands are Andros, Delos, and Mykonos. It has a land area of and a 2011 census population of 8,636 inhabitants.
