Mykhailo Melnyk
Mykhailo Spyrydonovych Melnyk ( uk, Миха́йло Спиридо́нович Ме́льник; 14 March 1944 – 10 March 1979) was a Ukrainian historian, poet, human rights activist, dissident and member of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group. He was an author of a book about the history of Ukraine, which was confiscated by the KGB. On November 8, 2006 he was posthumously awarded the Order For Courage 1st class by the order of President of Ukraine. On December 25, 2015 a street in Brovary was named after him. Biography Mykhailo Melnyk was born in the peasant family. In 1967 he graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and became a history teacher. Soon he began his postgraduate education in the Institute of History of Academy of Science of Ukrainian SSR, however in 1972 he was excluded from the institute for reading his poems near the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Kyiv at the anniversary of the reburial of Shevchenko's body in Ukraine. Pohrebyshche Raion
Pohrebyshche Raion ( uk, Погребищенський район, translit. ''Pohrebyschens'kyi raion'') was a raion (district) of Vinnytsia Oblast in west-central Ukraine. The administrative center of the district was the town of Pohrebyshche. The raion was abolished and its territory was merged into Vinnytsia Raion on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Vinnytsia Oblast to six. The last estimate of the raion population was Geography Pohrebyshche Raion was situated on the Podillian forest-steppe area in the north-eastern part of Vinnytsia Oblast. To the north it bordered Zhytomyr Oblast ( Ruzhyn Raion) and to the east Kyiv Oblast (Skvyra Raion, Volodarka Raion, Tetiiv Raion). Molod Ukrayiny ( ua, Молодь України) is a Ukrainian newspaper published daily in Kyiv. It is a Ukrainian language newspaper and the Ukrainian analogue of Komsomolskaya Pravda. Until 1934 it was located in Kharkiv. Since fall of the Soviet Union the newspapers are privately owned. History In 1921, the newspaper ''"News of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth Union of Ukraine''" was published in Kharkiv. In 1922, it was renamed the ''Molodoi Rabotnik'', which was published twice a week in Russian. In January 1924 (January 6–27), the newspaper was renamed ''Molodoi Leninets.''
