Myka Relocate
Myka Relocate was an American metalcore band formed in Lafayette, Louisiana in 2007, later based in Houston, Texas. The band has released three studio albums,'' Self Portrait as a Frozen Father'', '' Lies to Light the Way'' and '' The Young Souls'' in addition to taking part in four annual South by So What?! music festivals between 2012 and 2015 as well as the 2016 SO WHAT! Music Festival. The band is credited with being able to successfully combine electronic elements, guttural screaming and pop vocals. History In 2007, Austin Doré, Sam Albarado and Garrett Hawkins started Myka Relocate in Lafayette, Louisiana. Shortly after, the band enlisted Tori Guidry at lead guitar. In the early stages, the band had multiple short term bass players (Trevor Granger, Jack Taylor), before longtime bassist, Luke Burleigh, joined the band in 2008. Michael Lafayette Troy (born January 15, 1969), better known by his stage name Myka 9, is a rapper from Los Angeles, California. He is a member of Freestyle Fellowship, Haiku d'Etat and Magic Heart Genies. Known for years as Mikah Nine, he changed the spelling to Myka Nyne with the release of ''A Work in Progress'' in 2003. Since Magic Heart Genies' album ''Heartifact'' in 2008, he has been credited as Myka 9. History Originally known as Microphone Mike in the 1980s, Myka 9 was a member of the MC Aces with Aceyalone and Spoon Iodine. He ghost-wrote the Rappinstine song "Scream" on N.W.A.'s debut album ''N.W.A. and the Posse'' in 1987. As a co-founder of Freestyle Fellowship, he was instrumental in the scene at the Good Life Cafe in the early 1990s. Released in 1993, Freestyle Fellowship's second album ''Innercity Griots'' is one of the landmarks of Los Angeles hip hop. Myka Ophelia Bering is a fictional character on the U.S. television science fiction series, ''Warehouse 13'' (2009–2014), portrayed by Joanne Kelly. In common with co-protagonist Agent Pete Lattimer (Eddie McClintock), Bering is a U.S. Secret Service agent. Both have been seconded to the titular Warehouse 13, where their work involves collecting artifacts under conditions of highest classification secrecy. In opposition to her partner's happy-go-lucky attitude and reliance on intuition, Myka is smart, organized, and has a careful eye for detail. Character history Bering (born c.1982) is from Colorado Springs, Colorado, where her parents live.
