Myers Corner is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, United States. The population was 6,790 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Poughkeepsie– Newburgh– Middletown, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the larger New York–Newark–Bridgeport, NY- NJ- CT- PA Combined Statistical Area. Myers Corner is in the town of Wappinger on County Route 93 and County Route 94. Myers Corners School is also located here. Geography Myers Corner is located in the eastern part of the town of Wappinger at (41.592776, -73.872365). It is bordered on its farthest western extent by the village of Wappingers Falls and to the east by Sprout Creek, which forms the border with the town of East Fishkill. East Fishkill is a town on the southern border of Dutchess County, New York, United States. The population was 29,707 at the 2020 census. The town was once the eastern portion of the town of Fishkill. Hudson Valley Research Park is located in the town. The site once known as IBM East Fishkill, once housed 27 divisions and 4,700 regular employees for IBM Microelectronics, which latter became a part of GlobalFoundries. Sprout Creek is a U.S. Geological Survey. It is the largest tributary of Fishkill Creek, entering that creek some upstream from the Hudson River. The creek is annually stocked with 6,000 brown trout, and maintains its own natural population of trout. Course Sprout Creek begins in Millbrook, at in elevation. Wappingers Falls is a village in Dutchess County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 5,522. The community was named for the cascade in Wappinger Creek. The Wappingers Falls post office covers areas in the towns of Wappinger, Poughkeepsie, Fishkill, East Fishkill, and LaGrange. Wappingers Central School District (WCSD) is a school district headquartered in the town of East Fishkill, New York, on Corporate Park Drive. History On November 30, 1937, in the southern portion of Dutchess County, New York, there was a meeting held to determine the consolidation of area school districts. The district was created after a September 1938 vote within all or portions of several communities in Dutchess and Putnam counties, including Wappinger, East Fishkill, Fishkill, and Poughkeepsie in Dutchess County and Kent and Philipstown in Putnam County, approved the establishment of the WCSD. Upon opening the district had attained 11 schools. Dutchess County, New York maintains a system of signed county routes primarily to serve local traffic between the various communities in the county.
