Mashd N Kutcher (sometimes abbreviated as MNK) are an Australian dance act and electronic band. Mashd N Kutcher are best known for their songs " Do It Now" and " My Sunshine", which samples Len's song "Steal My Sunshine". In 2020 they came to public attention in Australia after remixing a speech given by Premier of the state of Victoria, Daniel Andrews, reporting on an early outbreak of COVID-19 in the state. The resulting dance track, Get on the Beers, made it seem that the Premier's instructions to his citizens was to do their civic duty and "get on the beers". The original press conference saw Andrews warn Victorians that it was not appropriate to get on the beers, due to the greater risk of the spread of the coronavirus. The act has performed in sold-out tours in Australia, Asia, New Zealand, North America, South America and Europe. Their name is a pun on American actor Ashton Kutcher. Gregory Oliver Diamond (May 4, 1949 – March 14, 1999) was an American pianist, drummer, songwriter, and producer who was active in the jazz and disco music scenes of the 1970s. Career Diamond was a member of the backing band for Jobriath, the Creatures. He played drums and percussion. Diamond wrote the song "Hot Butterfly", which was released in 1978 under one of his group's names, Bionic Boogie, with Luther Vandross providing lead vocals. Len (band)
Len is a Canadian alternative rock duo based in Toronto, Ontario. The band consists of siblings Marc Costanzo (vocals, guitar) and Sharon Costanzo (vocals, bass) and a revolving lineup of touring and studio musicians. History Marc Costanzo began recreationally recording music at the age of 13 years old. These recordings were predominately helmed by Marc, although his older sister Sharon sometimes contributed vocals to the recordings. In 1991, Marc began to produce music under the pseudonym of Len as a solo project. The name was taken from a high school friend of Marc's named Lenny. Sharon officially joined this project a year later, thus marking Len's first iteration as a duo. Len began as a punk rock band, with pop music influences. According to Costanzo, the song is about feelings of elation he experienced while attending an outdoor electronic music festival.
