Catie Curtis
Catie Curtis (born 22 May 1965) is an American singer-songwriter working primarily in the folk rock idiom. Her most recent album recording,''The Raft,'' was released in 2020. Career Curtis was raised in Saco, Maine. By the age of fifteen she was playing drums for a local theater company and in her late teens she sat in with Foreigner on a performance of "I Want to Know What Love Is". She graduated from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island with a degree in history and moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where she began working the folk rock circuit. Curtis self-released the cassette-only ''Dandelion'' in 1989; her first CD, ''From Years to Hours'', in 1991; and her second CD, ''Truth from Lies'', in 1995. She did not gain wide recognition, however, until a successful appearance at The Bottom Line in New York City led to a contract with EMI/Guardian Records and the re-release of ''Truth from Lies'' in 1996. Kathryn "Trina" Shoemaker is an American mixer, record producer and sound engineer responsible for producing/engineering and/or mixing records for bands such as Queens of the Stone Age, Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris, Something for Kate, Nanci Griffith, Kristin Hersh, and many more. Early life and career Shoemaker was born in Joliet, Illinois, and attended Joliet Central High School. After graduating in 1983, she moved to Los Angeles and got a job working as a secretary at Capitol Records. She then briefly moved to London where she worked with artist Hugh Harris. Billy Conway (December 18, 1956 – December 19, 2021) was an American drummer best known for his work with Treat Her Right and Morphine. From 2013, he toured as a duo with Jeffrey Foucault. In recent years, he had also backed Chris Smither. A stripped-down approach characterized his bands, equipment, and playing. Background Conway was a native of Owatonna, Minnesota, south of Minneapolis. In the 1970s, he attended Yale University, where he became friends and bandmates with harmonica player Jim Fitting, who would also become part of Treat Her Right. Conway earned a degree in psychology. A member of the Class of 1979, he was captain of Yale's ice hockey team as a senior in the 1978–79 season. Jeffrey Arthur Berlin (born January 17, 1953) is an American jazz fusion bassist. He first came to prominence in the 1970s as a member of the band Bruford led by drummer Bill Bruford. He picked up the baritone sax in 1984.
