My Enemy (Chvrches Song)
"My Enemy" is a song recorded by Scottish synthpop band Chvrches, featuring guest vocals from Matt Berninger of The National. Written and produced by the band, it was released through Glassnote on 28 February 2018, as the second single from their third studio album, '' Love Is Dead'' (2018). Background and release Matt Berninger made a brief cameo in the music video for the album's lead single " Get Out". On 25 February 2018, "My Enemy" appeared on the music streaming platform Deezer for a short amount of time, as a screenshot of the song playing on Spotify surfaced on the internet. The song was confirmed when the band revealed the album's track list the day after. It premiered on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show as the "World Record" of that day. Chvrches (stylised CHVRCHΞS and pronounced "Churches") are a Scottish pop band from Glasgow, formed in September 2011. The band consists of Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook, Martin Doherty and, unofficially since 2018, Jonny Scott. Mostly deriving from the synth-pop genre, Chvrches also incorporate indietronica, indie pop, and electronic dance into their sound. "Fake Empire" is a song by Brooklyn-based indie rock band The National from their fourth studio album, ''Boxer''. The song was released in June 2008 as the album's third and final single. Production "Fake Empire" was written by Bryce Dessner of The National. Commenting on the song's initial concept, he said, "Conceptually I said I would love to write a song that was based on a certain polyrhythm, the four-over-three pattern, which is what you hear in the piano.
