Chris Gethard
Christopher Paul Gethard (; born May 23, 1980) is an American actor, comedian and writer. He was the host of ''The Chris Gethard Show'', a talk show based in New York City, which aired from 2011 to 2018. He hosts the podcasts ''Beautiful Stories From Anonymous People'' and ''New Jersey is the World''. Early life Gethard grew up in West Orange, New Jersey, the son of Sally and Ken Gethard, and attended West Orange High School. Career Gethard is an improvisational actor who works largely out of Manhattan's Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. He began taking classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in 2000 while he was a student at Rutgers University. In 2013, the Independent Film Channel asked Gethard to write a pilot based on his book, ''A Bad Idea I'm About to Do''. Don Giovanni Records is an independent record label originally specializing in punk rock from the New Brunswick, New Jersey music scene but eventually working with a variety of artists from different genres. History Don Giovanni Records was founded by Joe Steinhardt and Zach Gajewski while they were living in Boston in 2004. The label is best known for developing artists like Screaming Females, Mitski, Waxahatchee, Laura Stevenson, and Moor Mother, as well as fostering a geographically diverse community of artists, including Mal Blum, Native American Music Award “Best Artist” winner Keith Secola, Holy Modal Rounders founder, Peter Stampfel, Lavender Country, Swamp Dogg, Alice Bag, and comedian Chris Gethard. Mal Blum is an American songwriter, musician, writer and performer from New York. Blum has released six full-length albums, most recently ''Pity Boy'' in 2019. Career They spent their early career promoting self-booked DIY solo tours and also self-released their early albums before signing to record labels. In 2014, they signed to punk label Don Giovanni records and announced they would be working on a new album produced by Marissa Paternoster of the band Screaming Females. After the Don Giovanni release of ''You Look a Lot Like Me'' in 2015, Blum began touring nationally as a band with a bassist and drummer, contributing to what critics called a "more developed but still gritty, punk" sound.
