My Best Of My Life
"My Best of My Life" is a song by Japanese rock act Superfly, the band's 7th single overall and the first released after the band's Rock'N'Roll Show 2008 tour. The song was used as the theme song for the Japanese drama ''Boss'', alongside a then untitled song the band performed as the opening theme. The show's producer Ken Murase decided to go with Superfly for his program's music because of Shiho Ochi's vocal range not only giving the rock music an edgy quality, but also tenderness and warmth. "My Best of My Life" is a ballad that Ochi wrote with the idea of a lonely woman in mind. The song reached the number 11 spot on the Oricon charts, while reaching number 3 on both the Japan Hot 100 and RIAJ Digital Track Chart. Superfly (band)
Superfly is a Japanese rock act that debuted on April 4, 2007. Formerly a duo, the act now consists solely of lyricist and vocalist Shiho Ochi with former guitarist Kōichi Tabo still credited as the group's composer and part-time lyricist. Superfly's first two studio albums were certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan, and their first four consecutive albums (the third being classified as a "single" by the group) all debuted at the top of the Oricon Weekly Album Charts, a first for a female recording artist in Japan in over seven years. Rick Derringer (born Richard Dean Zehringer; August 5, 1947) is an American guitarist, vocalist, producer and songwriter. He came to prominence in the 1960s as founding member of his band, the McCoys. Their debut single, "Hang on Sloopy", was a number-one hit in 1965 and became a classic of the garage rock era. The McCoys then had seven songs that charted in the top 100, including versions of "Fever" and "Come on Let’s Go". In 1974, Derringer reached the US top 30 with his own song, "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo". ''Mind Travel'' is the third studio album by Japanese pop-rock band Superfly (band), Superfly, the first studio album from the group fronted by Shiho Ochi in nearly two years. The record features guest musicians from Beat Crusaders, Tatsuya Nakamura, Losalios, and Mo'Some Tonebender, and the limited edition version of the album includes a DVD with 10 music videos from songs on the album. Straightener (band)
is a Japanese alternative rock band. The band started out as a duo with Atsushi Horie (vocals/guitar) and Shinpei Nakayama (drums) in 1998. They established an independent label named Ghost Records in 2002. Hidekazu Hinata joined the band as bassist in 2003, giving the band a heavier sound. In October of the same year they released a single, "Traveling Gargoyle" from Toshiba EMI. Straightener have performed at numerous festivals and live tours. The band toured all over Japan during their ''Linear'' tour in 2007, as well as performing a joint tour in December 2013 with Asian Kung-Fu Generation to celebrate both bands' 10-year anniversaries. Tatsuya Nakamura
is a Japanese musician, drummer and actor. After performing with several prominent punk rock bands, Nakamura rose to fame as drummer of Blankey Jet City from 1987 to 2000. In 1996, he founded his solo project Losalios, where he performs every instrument. He is also a member of Friction, Mannish Boys with Kazuyoshi Saito, and Gokumontō Ikka. Biography Tatsuya Nakamura has been working as a drummer since he was a teenager, performing with various bands such as Oxydoll, Genbaku Onanies, The Stalin, The God, Masturbation, Nickey & The Warriors, and The Star Club. "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo" is a rock song written by American musician Rick Derringer. It was first recorded in 1970 by Johnny Winter and his band Johnny Winter And, of which Derringer was a member.
