Muzha Refuse Incineration Plant
The Muzha Refuse Incineration Plant () is an incinerator in Muzha, Wenshan District, Taipei, Taiwan. History The construction of the plant started on 1 July 1989 and completed in January 1994. It began its commercial operation on 28 March 1995. On 13 June 2018, Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je announced that the plant will undergo refurbishment works, such as the upgrading of its gas treatment and electrical system, repainting of the stack with images of blue magpies, rhododendrons and banyan trees. Architecture The plant consists of one stack with a height of 150 meters. It is decorated with images of giraffes. Technical details The plant has a capacity of treating 1,200 tons of garbage per day from its four boilers. As of 2020, it received a total of 26,073 tons of garbage annually and incinerated 25,682 tons of them. Wenshan District is a District (Taiwan), district in Taipei, Taiwan. It is the southernmost district of the twelve districts in Taipei. Air Pollution In Taiwan
Air pollution in Taiwan is mostly derived from sources of domestic combustion, primarily the burning of fossil fuels. Taiwan's topography has been noted to be a contributing factor to its air pollution problem, leading to poor dispersal and trapping pollutants. Taipei Metro
Taipei Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), branded as Metro Taipei, is a rapid transit system serving the areas of Taipei and New Taipei City, New Taipei in Taiwan, operated by the State-owned enterprise, government-owned Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation, which also operates the Maokong Gondola. Taipei Metro was the first metro system ever built in Taiwan. The initial network was approved for construction in 1986 and work began two years later. Taipei Zoo Station
The Taipei Metro Taipei Zoo Station is a terminus on Wenhu line, Maokong Gondola Line, and the planned Circular Line of the Taipei Metro. It is located in the Wenshan District, Taipei, Taiwan. Station overview This three-level, elevated station features two side platforms and two exits. It is located on Xinguang Rd., Sec. 2. In order to deal with patronage to the zoo, an underground parking lot was constructed. It connects to the Maokong Gondola and Taipei Zoo. It will be a transfer station and terminus with Circular Line in 2029, which is expected to bring a lot of convenience to districts in outer Taipei and New Taipei by saving a lot of commuting time. Magpie
