Musselburgh Grammar School
Musselburgh Grammar School a state-funded secondary school in Musselburgh, East Lothian, Scotland. It serves as the main secondary school for Musselburgh and the surrounding areas of Wallyford and Whitecraig. The school dates back to the sixteenth century, and the present building was erected in 1835. Until the 1950s, Musselburgh Grammar was a fee-paying school. In 2005, the school's roll was 1310. Jodie Hannan is the current head teacher. Colin Nish
Colin John Nish (born 7 March 1981) is a Scottish former football player, coach and manager. Nish played for Dunfermline Athletic, Alloa Athletic, Clyde, Kilmarnock, Hibernian, Hartlepool United, Dundee, Dumbarton and Cowdenbeath. Whilst playing for Cowdenbeath, Nish was appointed player-manager of the Fife club. Following their relegation to Scottish League Two, Nish's contract was terminated. Robert Black (serial Killer)
Robert Black (21 April 1947 – 12 January 2016) was a Scottish serial killer and paedophile who was convicted of the kidnap, rape, and murder of four girls aged between 5 and 11 in a series of killings committed between 1981 and 1986 in the United Kingdom. Black was convicted of the kidnapping, rape and murder of three girls on 19 May 1994. He was also convicted of the kidnapping of a fourth girl, and had earlier been convicted of the kidnapping and sexual assault of a fifth. He was sentenced to life imprisonment, with a recommendation that he serve a minimum of 35 years. Yvonne Murray
Yvonne Carole Grace Murray-Mooney (née Murray, born 4 October 1964), is a Scottish former middle-distance and long-distance track and road-running athlete. She won a bronze medal in the 3000 metres at the 1988 Olympic Games, and gold medals at this distance at the 1987 European Indoor Championships, the 1993 World Indoor Championships and the 1990 European Championships. She also won a gold medal in the 10,000 metres at the 1994 Commonwealth Games. Her 3000 metres best of 8:29.02 was set in the Olympic Final of 1988. Gordon Hunter (born 3 May 1967) is a Scottish former footballer, who played as a defender for Hibernian, Canberra Cosmos, Dundee, Cowdenbeath, Hamilton Academical and Stirling Albion. Hunter was part of the Hibernian team that won the 1991 Scottish League Cup Final (also playing on the losing side in the final of the same competition in 1985 and 1993); he was granted a testimonial match by the club in 1996 having made 409 appearances over 14 seasons. Ross Muir (born 6 October 1995 in Edinburgh) is a Scottish former professional snooker player. He regularly wears a glove on his bridge hand. John McGlynn (born 19 December 1961) is a Scottish football coach and former player who manages Scottish League One club Falkirk. He has previously managed Scottish clubs Raith Rovers, Heart of Midlothian and Livingston. Jim Jefferies (footballer)
James Jefferies (born 22 November 1950 in Musselburgh) is a Scottish football manager and former player. Jefferies played for Heart of Midlothian for almost his whole playing career and enjoyed a successful first managerial spell with the club, winning the 1998 Scottish Cup. Jefferies has also managed Gala Fairydean, Berwick Rangers, Falkirk, Bradford City, Kilmarnock and Dunfermline Athletic. Billy Brown (footballer Born 1950)
Billy Brown (born 20 December 1950) is a Scottish football coach and former player. He previously managed East Fife and Cowdenbeath. Brown played in the Scottish Football League for Motherwell and Raith Rovers. He then became a football coach, working at Berwick Rangers, Falkirk, Hearts, Bradford City and Kilmarnock with longtime colleague Jim Jefferies. Club career Brown was born in Musselburgh. He began his career at Hull City going on to play for Motherwell and Raith Rovers. His senior playing career was ended by a cruciate ligament injury at the age of 28. Alan William Morgan (born 27 November 1983) is a Scottish former professional footballer. Morgan was born in Edinburgh, and began his career with English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers, but failed to break into the first team, and instead was released. He then won a move to the Scottish Premier League with Inverness Caledonian Thistle in 2005. In almost three years in the Scottish Highlands, Morgan made 31 appearances, scoring just 4 goals. After falling out of favour, Morgan was shipped off to Ross County at the tail end of the 2006–07 season, where he made 5 appearances, and failing to score any goals.
