Music In The Rockies
Music in the Rockies was a week-long festival held in Estes Park, Colorado, USA, which also featured a combination of seminars, competitions, concerts, and events related to Contemporary Christian Music, other kinds of Christian music, and the Christian music business industry. It has been replaced by a new event called Immerse. History The event started in 1975 as Seminar in the Rockies, launched by Christian Artists' Corp's president Cam Floria. In 2000, the Gospel Music Association (GMA) began to take over the event. In 2004, they changed the event's name to GMA Music in the Rockies. The event/festival was previously held at YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado. Both "Music in the Rockies" and "Seminar in the Rockies" had a series of concerts in the evenings, with some notable performers and attendees. Estes Park is a statutory town in Larimer County, Colorado, United States. The town population was 5,904 at the 2020 United States Census. Estes Park is a part of the Fort Collins, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Front Range Urban Corridor. Mark Alan Lowry (born June 24, 1958) is an American singer, comedian, minister and songwriter. He is best known for co-writing the song "Mary, Did You Know?" and being a member of the Gaither Vocal Band from 1988 to 2001, and 2009 to 2013, along with Michael English, Guy Penrod, David Phelps and Bill Gaither. "First Call" is a bugle call with three distinct meanings. U.S. military use At a U.S. military installation it is a pre-reveille "courtesy" signal, sounded around 05:50, originally to assemble the trumpeters to deliver the reveille that would be forthcoming at 06:00. Some locations also sound it a few minutes before "Retreat" (lowering the flag at the end of the day). In other military contexts it may be used (e.g. 5 minutes) prior to sounding "Assembly" for any particular formation.
