Music Farm (label)
Music Farm () is a Korean pop record label, founded with the band Cherry Filter as a name of ''Farm Entertainment'' in 2002. Background In 2001, producer Lee Guk-hyun met the modern rock group Cherry Filter in a live club at Hongdae and started the agency 'Farm Entertainment' by producing the band's 2nd album. The album succeeded and the unknown band became one of the leader in K-pop modern rock scene. The agency was expanded and produced the albums of Kim Jin Pyo, Kim Dong-ryool and other musicians and in 2005, the name was changed to ''Music Farm''. Recently John Park, the semi finalist of American Idol 9, joined the label. K-pop
K-pop (), short for Korean popular music, is a form of popular music originating in South Korea as part of South Korean culture. It includes styles and genres from around the world, such as pop, hip hop, R&B, experimental, rock, jazz, gospel, reggae, electronic dance, folk, country, disco, and classical on top of its traditional Korean music roots. Hongdae Area
Hongdae () is a neighborhood in Seoul, South Korea near Hongik University, after which it is named. It is known for its urban arts and indie music culture, local shops, clubs and entertainment. The area is located in Mapo-gu in the western end of Seoul, stretching from Seogyo-dong to Hapjeong-dong. Name Hongdae () is an abbreviation of Hongik Daehakgyo, Hongik University (홍익대학교). The term 'hongdae' is usually used in regards to Hongik University which has one of the top fine arts colleges in South Korea. Lee Juck
Lee Juck (; born February 28, 1974) is a South Korean singer, lyricist, composer and arranger. Biography Lee Juck was born in Seoul and attended Banpo High School. He graduated from Seoul National University with a major in sociology. He made his debut as a member of ''Panic'' with his neighborhood buddy Kim Jin-pyo in 1995 and worked with Kim Dong-ryul as a project band ''Carnival'' in 1997. In 1999, he released his first solo album ''Dead End''. His third album ''나무로 만든 노래 (Songs Made of Wood)'' won the 'Album of the Year', 'Song of the Year', 'Best Pop Album' and 'Best Pop Song' from the Korean Music Awards in 2008. John Andrew Park (born September 13, 1988) is a Korean-American singer. He was a semi-finalist on the ninth season of ''American Idol''; placing twentieth. Kim Dong-ryul (; born March 15, 1974) is a South Korean pop singer-songwriter. He composes, arranges, writes lyrics, produces, and performs his own music. He has been active since 1993. Career Exhibition era (1993–1997) As an architectural major in Yonsei University, Kim Dong-ryul formed the duet Exhibition with his close friend, Seo Dong-wook. Modern rock is an umbrella term used to describe rock music that is found on college rock radio stations. Some radio stations use this term to distinguish themselves from classic rock, which is based in 1960s–1980s rock music.
