Music Bank (TV Series)
''Music Bank'' (; RR: ''Myujikbaengkeu'') is a South Korean music program which airs every Friday at 17:00 KST on KBS2. As of 2015, the show is also broadcast in more than a hundred countries through KBS World. Episodes are filmed at the KBS New Wing Open Hall in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu. The show also organizes the global live concert ''Music Bank World Tour''. History Prior to ''Music Bank'', ''Top 10 Songs'' (가요톱10) debuted in 1981 airing live at 6:30 (KST) on Fridays and aired until 1998. For the first few months of 1998, ''Bravo New Generation'' took its place, but due to low ratings, it was quickly replaced by ''Music Bank'' on June 18, 1998. The chart format that was used since ''Top 10 Songs'' was abandoned in late 2001 due to controversy and was changed into a request format. Jang Won-young
Jang Won-young (; born August 31, 2004), known mononymously as Wonyoung, is a South Korean singer and model. She is a member of Ive under Starship Entertainment and is also a former member of project girl group Iz*One after finishing first in Mnet's girl group survival reality television show ''Produce 48''. Early life and education Jang Won-young was born on August 31, 2004. After starting Iz*One's activities, Off the Record announced Jang and her parents' intention to home-school in April 2019. She subsequently left Yonggang Middle School and took the qualification exam. Jang passed with a perfect score in Korean, English, and mathematics. Jang is currently a student at School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA). The ''Music Bank'' Chart is a record chart established in 1998 on the South Korean KBS television music program ''Music Bank''. Every week during its live broadcast, the show gives an award for the best-performing single on the South Korean chart. The chart includes digital performance on domestic online music services (65%), album sales (5%), number of times the single was broadcast on KBS TV (20%), and viewers' choice (10%) in its ranking methodology. The score for domestic online music services is calculated using data from Melon, Bugs, Genie Music and Soribada. Actor and singer Park Bo-gum and Red Velvet member Irene, who had been the hosts of the show since May 2015, continued to do so until June 24, 2016. K-pop
K-pop (), short for Korean popular music, is a form of popular music originating in South Korea as part of South Korean culture.
