Museo Benini
Museo Benini is a single-artist museum dedicated to the work of Italian artist Benini, born in Imola in the Emilia-Romagna region in 1941. It is in the Texas Hill Country, 47 miles northwest of Austin, Texas which is the home of two other single-artist museums: the Elisabet Ney Museum and the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum. The museum, as well as a compound of other buildings, is set in 35 acres just south of the city of Marble Falls. Built in 2015, Museo Benini showcases the contemporary artist's lifetime work, featuring paintings spanning more than sixty years. On exhibit are his early "superroses", geometric paintings, and more recent works of an abstract nature. In her April 2020 article for ''Sightlines'' magazine, Austin arts writer Barbara Purcell noted, "Museo Benini is the rare single artist museum where the artist is still alive and working." Imola (; rgn, Jômla or ) is a city and ''comune'' in the Metropolitan City of Bologna, located on the river Santerno, in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. Texas Hill Country
The Texas Hill Country is a geographic region of Central and South Texas, forming the southeast part of the Edwards Plateau. Given its location, climate, terrain, and vegetation, the Hill Country can be considered the border between the American Southeast and Southwest. The region represents the very remote rural countryside of Central Texas, but also is home to growing suburban neighborhoods and affluent retirement communities. Elisabet Ney Museum
The Elisabet Ney Museum is a museum located in Austin, Texas, United States. It is housed in the former studio of sculptor Elisabet Ney and is dedicated to showcasing her life and works. There is a permanent collection of her portrait busts and personal memorabilia on display. History ''Formosa'', as Ney called the studio, was completed in 1893 and enlarged in 1902. It was the earliest art studio built in Texas. After Ney died in 1907, Ella and Joseph B. Dibrell purchased the building to preserve it as an art center in memory of her. The City of Austin assumed ownership of it in 1941 and it is managed through the city's Parks and Recreation Department. Umlauf Sculpture Garden And Museum
The Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum, stylized as the UMLAUF, is a museum and outdoor sculpture garden centered on the artistic works of American sculptor Charles Umlauf. Located at 605 Azie Morton Road in the Zilker neighborhood of Austin, Texas, the garden is adjacent to Austin's Zilker Park. In 1985, Charles and Angeline Umlauf donated their home, studio, and 168 Umlauf sculptures to the City of Austin. Six years later, in 1991, the City built a museum to display the artwork on adjoining city property with private funds. Staff and volunteers maintain the museum with support of grants, donated funds, and contributions from the City of Austin, to maintain the museum and xeriscaped garden. Marble Falls is a city in Burnet County, Texas, United States. As of the 2020 United States Census, the city population was 7,033. Lake Marble Falls is part of the Highland Lakes on the Colorado River, the largest chain of lakes in Texas.
