Museo (Naples Metro)
Museo is a station on line 1 of the Naples Metro. It was opened on 5 April 2001 as the eastern terminus of the section of the line between Vanvitelli and Museo. On 27 March 2002 the line was extended to Dante Dante Alighieri (; – 14 September 1321), probably baptized Durante di Alighiero degli Alighieri and often referred to as Dante (, ), was an Italian poet, writer and philosopher. Line 1 (Italian: ''linea uno'') is an rapid transit line, part of the Naples Metro in Naples, Italy. , Line 1 connects 18 stations. It is operated by Azienda Napoletana Mobilità SpA (ANM). The line has been renamed ''Metrò dell'Arte'' (Metro of Art) reflecting the presence of contemporary art works installed in some of its stations. The line is in the process of being upgraded and expanded. When the upgrading works are completed, Line 1 will connect 26 stations and form a loop, and bring easier access to the city centre for residents of Chiaiano, Piscinola, and Scampia. Naples Metro
The Naples Metro ( it, Metropolitana di Napoli; nap, Metrupulitana 'e Napule) is the rapid transit system serving the city of Naples, Italy. The system comprises three underground rapid transit lines ( Line 1, Line 6 and the Naples-Aversa Metro). History In 1911, construction on the urban section of the Rome–Formia–Naples railway, the Villa Literno–Napoli Gianturco railway was commenced, and although it was suspended for the duration of World War I, the line was eventually opened on 28 September 1925 as an urban railway service line, the first in Italy. This service is now known as Line 2. After World War II, the existing Circumvesuviana railway was upgraded to a modern commuter rail, and also the Cumana railway became relevant for the commuter transport. Vanvitelli (Naples Metro)
Vanvitelli is an underground metro station that serves Line 1 on the Naples Metro. It was opened on 28 May 1993 as the southern terminus of the inaugural section of Naples Metro, between Vanvitelli and Colli Aminei. On 5 April 2001, the line was extended to Museo, and Vanvitelli ceased to be the terminus. The station was built according to the plans of Michele Capobianco and has undergone a radical restoration (thanks to which the station is part of the circuit of art stations) directed by Michele Capobianco and his son Lorenzo Capobianco with artistic consulting by Achille Bonito Oliva. The entrances are placed in the four corners of Piazza Vanvitelli, as well as an underground corridor that leads from the station directly to the two funiculars namely that of Chiaia and Central. The descent to the level of the tracks is via two sets of fixed stairs and furniture while the output directly via a single ramp. You can also make use of the elevators. Dante is a station on line 1 of the Naples Metro. It was opened on 27 March 2002 as one-station extension from Museo. The station is located between Museo and Toledo. On 28 March 2011 the line was further extended to Università as non-stop shuttle service, as Toledo and Municipio stations were not yet ready. Materdei (Naples Metro)
Materdei is a station on Line 1 of the Naples Metro and is located in Piazza Scipione Ammirato in Naples. According to the british newspaper The Daily Telegraph it was ranked in 16th place as the most beautiful metro station in Europe. Description The station was designed by Alessandro Mendini and inaugurated on 5 July 2003 in the presence of the fifteen transport ministers of the European Union nations. Its opening took place two years after the completion of the entire section up to Dante as it was used as an extraction well for the surface recovery of the materials and machinery used during the excavations. Inside the airport, which is part of the circuit of art stations, there is a mosaic by Sandro Chia, a high-relief by Luigi Ontani and works by Sol LeWitt and serigraphs by lesser-known artists.
