Murray Finch-Hatton, 12th Earl Of Winchilsea
Murray Edward Gordon Finch-Hatton, 12th Earl of Winchilsea and 7th Earl of Nottingham (28 March 1851 – 7 September 1898), styled the Hon. Murray Finch-Hatton until 1887, was a British Conservative politician and agriculturalist. His country residence was at Haverholme Priory, Lincolnshire. Early life Winchilsea and Nottingham was the second son of George Finch-Hatton, 10th Earl of Winchilsea and 5th Earl of Nottingham and eldest son by his third wife Fanny Margaretta, daughter of Edward Royd Rice. The tenth earl was famous for his 1829 duel with the Duke of Wellington. Career Politician He unsuccessfully contested Newark in 1880 but entered Parliament for Lincolnshire South in an 1884 by-election, a seat he held until the following year when the constituency was abolished. The ''Women's Suffrage Journal'' was a magazine founded by Lydia Becker and Jessie Boucherett in 1870. Initially titled the ''Manchester National Society for Women's Suffrage Journal'' within a year its title was changed reflecting Becker's desire to extend its influence beyond "Manchester's radical liberal elite". It carried news of events affecting all areas of women's lives, and particularly focused on features that demonstrated the breadth of support among the general population for women's suffrage in the United Kingdom. It also frequently published guidance on how to prepare a petition to be presented to the House of Commons. Publication ceased in 1890 following Becker's death. Ewerby is a village in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It lies north-east from Sleaford and south from Anwick. The hamlet of Ewerby Thorpe lies to the east from Ewerby. William Jolliffe, 4th Baron Hylton
William George Hervey Jolliffe, 4th Baron Hylton (2 December 1898 – 14 November 1967), was a British peer and soldier. Hylton was the son of Hylton Jolliffe, 3rd Baron Hylton, and Lady Alice Adeliza Hervey. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Coldstream Guards and also served as Lord Lieutenant of Somerset from 1949 to 1964. Lord Hylton married Lady Perdita Rose Mary Asquith, daughter of Katharine and Raymond Asquith, eldest son of Prime Minister H. H. Asquith, in 1931. He died in November 1967, aged 68. Lady Muriel Evelyn Vernon Paget CBE DStJ (19 August 1876 – 16 June 1938) was a British philanthropist and humanitarian relief worker, initially based in London, and later in Eastern and Central Europe. She was made an OBE in 1918 and promoted to CBE in 1938. She received awards in recognition of her humanitarian work from the governments of Belgium, Czechoslovakia, Estonia, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, and Imperial Russia. In 1916 she was invested as a Dame of Grace of the Order of St John. Children's Order Of Chivalry
The Children's Order of Chivalry was an English society which expressed its rules as "Gentleness, Honour and Love". Founded by English aristocrats in the late nineteenth century and enjoying royal patronage, the society grew quickly. It aimed to improve understanding and sympathy between rich and poor, and encouraged well-off children to correspond with, and occasionally host, poor children from the East End of London.
