Murray Dron
Murray Arnold Dron (born 23 January 1975) is a British journalist and television presenter working for ITN on London Tonight and ITV News. Background Dron was born in Perth, Scotland, but grew up in Jersey from a young age. He was educated at Elizabeth College, Guernsey and graduated from Edge Hill University with a degree in Media. Broadcasting career Murray began his career in the Channel Islands as presenter of Channel Television's nightly regional news programme Channel Report alongside Kristina Moore. He also presented the weekly sports show Report Sport. From 2007 Dron was a freelance sports reporter for ITV News, covering a wide range of events, including Formula One, Premier League football, the cricket and rugby World Cups and the Tour de France. He was a launch presenter on Setanta Sports News, co-hosting Lunchtime Live alongside Charlotte Jackson until the channel ceased broadcasting in June 2009. Channel Television
ITV Channel Television, previously Channel Television, is a British television station which has served as the ITV contractor for the Channel Islands since 1962. It is based in Jersey and broadcasts regional programme for insertion into the network ITV schedule. Island Games
The Island Games (currently known as the NatWest International Island Games for sponsorship reasons) are biennial international multi-sports events organised by the International Island Games Association (IIGA). Competitor teams each represent different island communities (with one team from the peninsula of Gibraltar) which are IIGA members. Currently all competitor teams represent non-sovereign territories of European nations—some within European waters and some further overseas. Kristina Louise Moore is a Jersey politician and former journalist who is currently the Chief Minister of Jersey, as well as being a Deputy for St Mary, St Ouen and St Peter. She has served in the States Assembly since 2011 and is currently a deputy for St Mary, St Ouen and St Peter. First serving as Deputy for St Peter, she was Minister for Home Affairs from 2014 to 2018. In 2018 she was elected as a senator and became Chair of the Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel. In 2022, she was elected by the new States Assembly as the first female Chief Minister of Jersey, a role which she officially took on 12 July that year.
