Caterina Murino
Caterina Murino (born 15 September 1977) is an Italian actress. She began her acting career in the 1999 production of the play '' Richard III'' and later made her breakthrough with the 2004 film '' The Corsican File''. She went on to appear in the 2006 film '' Casino Royale'' and received a European Golden Globe at the 2008 Italian Golden Globe Awards. Life and career Murino was born in Cagliari, Sardinia, and initially wanted to be a doctor. She finished fifth in the 1997 Miss Italy contest. She studied drama at the Scuola di Cinema e Teatro run by Francesca De Sapio, between 1999 and 2000. She then appeared in stage productions of '' Richard III'' and Italian-language plays. Battle Of Murino
The Battle of Murino took place on January 8, 1880, between the Principality of Montenegro and the League of Prizren. It was part of the battles about the sovereignty over Plav and Gusinje. According to the treaty of Berlin, the Ottoman Empire was to hand over the region to Montenegro, but this move was militarily opposed by local Albanians. At the time of the battle, Montenegrin sources claim that around 10,000 Albanians from the League of Prizren fought against Montenegrin forces numbering 3,000, led by commanders Marko Miljanov and Todor Miljanov and priest Đoko, in Murino. Albanian sources claim that around 4,000 Albanian soldiers of the League of Prizren and 3,000 local volunteers fought against 9,000 Montenegrins. The battle at Murino occurred about a month later after the battle of Novšiće (December 4, 1879) as the Ottoman high command was preparing to send troops from Monastir under Ahmed Muhtar Pasha to pacify local resistance to the annexation. Egidius de Francia (; also Egidius de Murino or Magister Frater Egidius) was a French music theorist of medieval music, known for the short treatise ''De motettis componendis''. He possibly was an Augustinian friar, as in a miniature illumination he is titled ''Magister Egidius Augustinus''. Along with "Guilelmus de Francia", he was probably a friar at the Monastery of Santo Spirito in Florence. Egidius de Murino is, with Philippus de Caserta, one possible author of the '' Tractatus figurarum,'' a practical guide to the notation of ''ars subtilior.'' Egidius was also the author of '' De modo componendi,'' a theoretical guide to motet writing. He is featured in the ''Squarcialupi Codex'', the British Library manuscript Add MS 29987 and the ''Modena Codex'' (often known with the sigla ''ModA'').
